    Abstract: The present disclosure describes bioadhesive polymer composition comprising: a first film comprising a polymer comprising: i) high-methoxyl pectin (HMP) and ii) an initial water content ranging from about 37% to about 43% (w/w); and a second film comprising a polymer comprising: i) HMP and ii) an initial water content ranging from about 9% to about 13% (w/w), wherein the first and second films are adhered to each other.
