  • Publication number: 20070226931
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a toothbrush and methods of making it. The toothbrush may have an elongated body being composed of a first material and having a head portion and a handle portion, a head composed of a second material and disposed in the head portion of the elongated body, and a plurality of bristles extending from the head forming a bristle brush. The method of making a toothbrush may include molding a head of a first material, inserting the head into an elongated body mold, molding an elongated body having a head portion and a handle portion of a second material onto the head, and inserting bristles into the head. The first material is more rigid than the second material.

  • Publication number: 20050257801
Abstract: According to one embodiment of the invention, there is provided a one-handed flossing method for using a dental floss loop by performing a series of steps performed on one hand for tensioning suitably a flossing portion of the endless loop for flossing purposes. The method includes tensioning the dental floss loop between the fingers and the thumb of the same hand, and then further tensioning the loop by pressing on it with at least one of the other digits of the hand. According to another embodiment of the invention, a particle discharging method using a dental floss loop includes anchoring inside the mouth a stretched flossing portion of the loop extending between the teeth, and pulling forcibly on the flossing portion extending out of the mouth to stretch the flossing portion away from the mouth to dislodge an unwanted particle. The tensioned dental floss loop is then placed between the teeth for flossing.

  • Patent number: 4589245
Abstract: A finger assembly supports up to four molded fingers in circumaxially spaced relationship so that each finger can guide a bottle dropped downwardly through a pocket defined by four such finger assemblies in a packing case loader. Each finger has a spoon shaped lower end designed to preclude destructive reverse bending of the molded finger as a result of interference with a case or other impediment. The fingers are preferably biased by individual return springs and may move laterally at least slightly to accommodate misalignment between them and the case. These springs may comprise individual coil compression springs or be defined in the form of petals or leaves integrally formed in a plastic part with a central opening such that this part can be mounted to the lower face of the retaining member and be held in place by the same retaining member fastener as used to assemble the holder and retainer.
