  • Patent number: 9523650
Abstract: An improved temperature sensor assembly (15) comprising a temperature sensing probe (16) having a temperature sensing portion (18), a terminal portion (21), and an intermediate portion (20) between the temperature sensing portion and the terminal portion; a mounting element (28) in sliding engagement along a first axis (x-x) with the intermediate portion of the temperature sensing probe such that the temperature sensing probe is movable linearly relative to the mounting element in an axial direction; the mounting element configured to attach to an open tip thermowell (100) such that the temperature sensing portion of the probe is exposed to a process environment (104); the temperature sensing probe comprising a stop (19) configured to bear against a seat (108) in the thermowell; and a spring element (24) arranged between the stop and the mounting element and configured to bias the stop and the mounting element linearly away from each other in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4618198
Abstract: A connector for sealingly joining the ends of a pair of electrical cables which provides a reusable quick-disconnect metal-to-metal sealing joint. Without the use of elastomeric seals. The connector has a male housing encircling the marginal end portion of one cable, has a female housing encircling the marginal end portion of the other cable, and has a coupling for selectively drawing the two housings into sealing engagement with one another. Each housing is sealed to the outer surface of the associated cable. An insert, provided with a flexible tab, is snapped into each housing to maintain the spacing of the conductors from one another and from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4527909
Abstract: A temperature probe has a metal casing, closed at one end and open at its other, in which a temperature sensor is buried in compacted hygroscopic mineral insulation having an exposed end face through which extend wires from the sensor. Such end face is sealed to keep it dry by a metal tube having one end surrounding and brazed to the metal casing, and plugged at its other end by a body of compressed sealant material. Lead wires extend through the sealant body and are electrically joined in a space provided between the exposed end face of mineral insulation and the opposing inner end face of the sealant plug.
