  • Publication number: 20070295466
Abstract: A method for treating a substrate is described. In accordance with one aspect, the method includes applying a polymer coating to a substrate, and bringing the polymer coating into contact with a heated surface in a pressure nip while the coating is still in a wet state. Optionally the polymer coating may include a crosslinkable material, and a crosslinking agent may be used to promote crosslinking. The polymer coating replicates the heated surface. A product produced in accordance with the described method is also disclosed. The product is characterized by having subsurface voids within the coating.

  • Publication number: 20070169902
Abstract: A method of producing a coated paper having reduced gloss mottle and excellent smoothness includes the steps of calendering a base stock at a relatively high pressure in a first calendering step, coating at least one side of the calendered base stock and calendering the coated base stock at a relatively low pressure in a second calendering step.

  • Publication number: 20060238307
Abstract: An inventory control system and method that tracks inventories of items with RFID tags, includes a reader unit and an intelligent station that tracks RFID tags to determine item information of items to be inventoried. The reader unit transmits and receives RF signals. The intelligent station includes a first RF antenna connected to the reader unit by a first transmission cable through a first switch, and one or more additional RF antennae connected to the reader unit by the same first transmission cable through additional switches. An inventory control processing unit receives item information from the intelligent stations to update inventory information regarding the items to be inventoried.

  • Publication number: 20050230465
Abstract: A container body with a container opening and a flap partially secured to the container body and completely covering the container opening is disclosed. The flap is secured to the container by a hinge or fold line and formed from the same substrate as the container body. The container body contains a first magnetic region adjacent to and surrounding the perimeter of the container opening. The flap contains a second magnetic region aligned with and opposite the container body's first magnetic region. The first and second magnetic regions are magnetically attracted to each other. The flap is held in a closed position by magnetic attraction between the flap's magnetic region and the container body's magnetic region.

  • Patent number: 6704382
Abstract: An improved phase-lock loop circuit comprising a phase detector, a loop filter, and a voltage controlled oscillator. The phase detector samples the phase-lock loop input signal at various points in a cycle of the phase-lock loop output signal and outputs a signal representative of the point of the phase-lock loop output cycle at which a logic state transition of the input signal is detected. In addition, a self-sweeping autolock circuit interacts with the loop filter in such a manner that the self-sweeping autolock circuit commands the loop filter to sweep its output signal when phase-lock is absent and the loop filter halts the sweep of its output signal when phase-lock is acquired.

  • Patent number: 4521188
Abstract: A dowel pin has a plurality of facets which provide numerous planes, edges and angles to constrain the dowel pin and an associated die segment to a particular orientation with respect to the base of a dental model, and to enhance the durability of the model.
