  • Publication number: 20190004675
Abstract: A flexible layout system is disclosed herein that improves infinite scrolling capabilities and other animations in software calendars. In an implementation, a time period of a viewport in a user interface may change relative to a panel in a calendar. As the viewport changes, a mapping component informs other components of a new time period coming into view in the view port as a result of a scrolling event. The mapping component may also respond to requests from another component with layout information for the visual representation of the new time period (e.g. position and dimension). In this manner, the responsibility for determining layout information is encapsulated.

  • Publication number: 20180317900
Abstract: An atrial retraction device is disclosed. In minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, there is often the need to make a second incision in the chest to place an atrial retractor for gaining clear access to the mitral valve of the heart by a cardiothoracic surgeon. The atrial retraction device of the present invention eliminates the need for a second incision, and provides an adjustable retraction device and associated surgical adjustor that reduces patient trauma, reduces surgical time, and does not require frequent adjustments during surgery. The atrial retraction device uses an adjustable band and roller arrangement to maintain clear and unobstructed access to the mitral valve during surgery.

  • Publication number: 20180241710
Abstract: A compose form for drafting a message is presented inline within a window along with a message list. For example, instead of overlaying the message application's user interface (UI) with a new window for composing a message, the compose form is displayed within a portion of the window reserved for viewing content of messages. While composing the message using the compose form, the rest of the message application's UI remains visible and accessible to the user. For example, the user may navigate to another folder and/or move to another message/conversation by interacting with the tree view/message list view. A draft of the message being composed may be automatically saved when the user navigates away from the compose form (e.g. by selecting another conversation in the list view).

  • Patent number: 9943245
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring an impedance of a tissue region inside a body of a patient. A first guidewire is advanced into a tissue region of a body of a patient, wherein the first guidewire comprises one or more electrodes electrically coupled to the tissue region. A second guidewire is advanced into the body, wherein the second guidewire comprises one or more electrodes electrically coupled to the tissue region of the body of the patient and spaced from the first guidewire. An error correction electrode is electrically coupled to the body. A voltage is applied across the first and the second guidewires. The impedance of the tissue region between the first and the second guidewires is measured while using an electrical pathway created by the error correction electrode.

  • Publication number: 20180089928
Abstract: A gaming system includes a video gaming system and one or more video monitors operatively connected to receive a game video signal. A wager input device is also included in the system and configured to receive a wager on a result in the video game. An image evaluation processing system is connected to receive the game video signal and is configured to evaluate the game video signal to identify a result in the game. The wager resolution system is connected to the image evaluation processing system and to the wager input device, and is configured to receive the wager and the result identified by the image evaluation processing system, and to resolve the wager based at least in part on that result.

  • Publication number: 20180053379
Abstract: A slot machine, gaming method, and program product are provided to dynamically display visual and audio content to be played in synchronization with a music track of any tempo. A software process is provided to time the beats of a song, and a high resolution timer sends beat events to gaming presentation processes to achieve a dynamic end-result that can be applied to a song of a desired tempo. The beat event is used to trigger additional presentation elements such as visual effects, sounds, and lighting on the beat of the background music. This approach allows any multimedia application to synchronize its presentation elements with the beat of a song, resulting in a dynamically orchestrated produce that feels cohesive and well composed.

  • Publication number: 20180018852
Abstract: A method includes receiving game command input signals on a game controller signal input path to a gaming device and splitting the game command input signals from the game controller signal input path onto a signal monitoring path. Game command data representing the game command input signals from the monitoring path are stored and used in evaluating two or more game control aspects associated with the game command data to produce a respective automation probability for each game control aspect. The respective automation probabilities for each game control aspect are combined to produce an overall automation probability value. A participation status of the player may then be modified in response to a characteristic of the overall automation probability value.

  • Publication number: 20160235463
Abstract: A radiofrequency guidewire includes a core wire configured to be coupled to a radiofrequency generator. The core wire includes a proximal end and a distal end with respect to the radiofrequency generator. A tip structure is coupled to the core wire proximate the distal end. The tip structure includes one or more edge surfaces. The one or more edge surfaces provide an area of reduced curvature radius on the tip structure. The area of reduced curvature radius generates a higher electric field than other areas of the tip structure during a delivery of radiofrequency energy on the tip structure. A method of ablating an occlusion utilizing the radiofrequency guidewire is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8882757
Abstract: Systems and methods improve operation of an applicator that delivers heat-generating energy to an eye as a part of an eye therapy. For example, reflected power may be measured to determine whether sufficient contact has been established between the applicator and the eye for accurate and precise delivery of energy to the eye. In addition, at least one of forward and reflected power may be measured to monitor the application of coolant pulses that control the generation of heat in the eye when the applicator delivers energy to the eye. Further, the forward and reflected power may be measured to determine an efficiency of energy transfer or an impedance mismatch. Based on the efficiency of energy transfer or the impedance mismatch, an adjustable parameter of a tuning element may be modified.
