    Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing and using digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) structured reporting (SR) object consolidation. The consolidation process may be applied to a plurality of objects generated based on a same medical imaging data. The consolidation process includes assessing each object of the plurality of objects, with the assessing including determining whether the object is a parent of another object in the plurality of objects, and discarding the object when it is a parent of another object. A composite object is then generated based on the plurality of objects, with the generating including, when only one object remains after the assessing, copying that object into the consolidated object; otherwise when a plurality of remaining objects remains after the assessing, processing the remaining objects, in sequence from newest to oldest, with the processing including, for copying each data element in each remaining object into the composite object.

One method according to the invention involves transmitting a message via a frequency of a frequency hopping sequence, and determining when the same frequency will reoccur in the frequency hopping sequence. Relevant portions of the device enter a sleep mode, and the device emerges from the sleep mode when the frequency at which the message was transmitted reoccurs in the frequency hopping sequence. The device monitors for a response to the message via the frequency at which the message was transmitted when the frequency reoccurs in the frequency hopping sequence.

A transmitter frequency hopping sequence is provided that is derived from a set of available frequencies. A receiver frequency hopping sequence is also derived from those frequencies. The transmitter frequency hopping sequence differs from the receiver frequency hopping sequence, at least in regards to the order that the frequencies of the respective sequence will be involved in the message communication. The next frequency in the transmitter frequency hopping sequence is identified in which to transmit data. The data is transmitted at the identified communication frequency when that same frequency arises in the receiver frequency hopping sequence.
