  • Patent number: 8333177
Abstract: A fuel system (10) of an engine (16) has a first fuel tank (12), a second fuel tank (14), and a pump (36) for pumping fuel from the tanks to the engine. A first valve mechanism (32) is selectively operable to a first position that allows fuel to be pumped concurrently from both the first and second tanks to the engine, a second position that allows fuel to be pumped from the first tank, but not the second, and a third position that allows fuel to be pumped from the second tank, but not the first. A second valve mechanism (34) is selectively operable to a first position that allows fuel to return from the engine concurrently to both the first and second tanks, a second position that allows fuel to return to the first tank, but not the second, and a third position that allows fuel to return to the second tank, but not the first.

  • Publication number: 20100133205
Abstract: An apparatus includes a remotely-actuable actuator connected to a drain valve of a fuel-water separator for manually remotely operating the drain valve, and an elongated drain tube connected to the separator's drain port for dispensing liquid separated by the separator to a desired remote location for collection. The apparatus can be installed in a convenient location in a vehicle, such as to the vehicle's fender well, where it is easily operated and where waste is easily collected. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).

  • Patent number: 7086673
Abstract: A front bumper for a mobile vehicle that rotates to provide additional access to the vehicle engine. The rotating front bumper is provided in various embodiments, exemplifying possible modes of configuration and operation thereof. Specifically, methods of retaining the front bumper in a non-rotated position are presented, as are methods for preventing over-extension, and linkages that cause the front bumper to rotate when the hood is opened.
