Abstract: A dimming system for a vehicle includes a sensor to sense a field of view and a liquid crystal display (“LCD”) having a plurality of liquid crystals. A processor in communication with the sensor and the LCD receives a position of an eye of the occupant and determines a position of an external light source in the field of view. The processor is also configured to calculate an intersection location of the LCD and a line between eye of the occupant and the external light source. The processor is further configured to selectively command the LCD to activate at least one of the plurality of liquid crystals at or near the calculated intersection location.
