Abstract: A work machine having a work tool used in excavation and earth moving operations. In a preferred embodiment the work machine has boom pivotally connected to the frame of the machine. A dipperstick is pivotally connected to the end of the boom and adapted to support a cylinder assembly thereon. A tool carrier attachment adapter is connected to both the distal end of the dipperstick and to the cylinder assembly. The tool carrier attachment adapter has a mounting bracket and an attachment coupling. The mounting bracket pivotally connects the attachment adapter to the dipper stick and cylinder assembly and supports the attachment coupling. The attachment coupling comprises a planar member adapted to engage the work tool.
