  • Publication number: 20230176588
Abstract: An autonomous unmanned road vehicle and how it can be used to make deliveries. The unmanned vehicle is capable of operating autonomously on paved roadways. The vehicle has a control system for autonomous driving and a perception system for detecting objects in its surroundings. The vehicle also has one or more cargo compartments for carrying the delivery items. The vehicle may have a flashing light beacon to increase the conspicuousness of the vehicle. In consideration that the vehicle does not carry passengers, the size and/or motor power of the vehicle may be reduced as compared to conventional passenger vehicles.

  • Patent number: 10725535
Abstract: A head-worn image display apparatus that comprises a non-immersive image display assembly that receives images from a stereoscopic video camera module. The image display assembly comprises a miniature display component for generating the images for display. The image display assembly may work by an optical relay system. The head-worn image display apparatus could be used in a variety of different settings. One particular application is for performing medical procedures such as microsurgery. The stereoscopic video camera module may have optical magnification capability (e.g. such as in a surgical microscope) to provide a magnified view of the surgical field.

  • Publication number: 20200046536
Abstract: Biliary diversion catheters for diverting bile fluid from a part of the patient's biliary tree to the patient's distal small intestine. The catheter comprises a system of interconnected or interconnectable tubes: a biliary tube segment, an intestinal (e.g. ileal or jejunal) tube segment, and a flush tube segment. The biliary diversion catheter is designed such that bile fluid flows into the biliary tube segment and is shunted into the distal small intestine via the intestinal tube segment. The flush tube segment is used to infuse flush fluid into the catheter (e.g. to clear out any debris within the tube system of the catheter). The biliary tube segment and the intestinal tube segment may together form a drainage tube or an anastomotic component. The flush tube segment and the intestinal tube segment may together form a transabdominal tube.

  • Publication number: 20160262602
Abstract: Use of near-infrared fluorescence imaging in performing an endoscopic surgery, such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy. A composite video image of the surgical field (e.g. the biliary anatomy) is shown on a display screen. The composite video image combines a visible color image and a fluorescence image of the surgical field. Using various techniques, selective fluorescence imaging of a particular area of interest in the surgical field is made possible. For example, in a cholecystectomy procedure, the biliary ducts may be the particular area of interest for the selective fluorescence imaging.

  • Publication number: 20160210431
Abstract: Using telemedicine to give surgeons real-time intra-operative technical assistance from a remotely-located technical assistant on the use of a surgical product. An operating room (OR)-located computer system is in network communication with a remote-located computer system. The OR-located computer system has a display screen for displaying visual media that provides guidance about the use of the surgical product. A technical assistant at the remote assistance site can remotely control the presentation of the visual media.
