Abstract: A sequence of steps for locating information of a particular type on a particular web site is received from a first process and stored in a database of sequences of steps. Upon an identification of the particular web site as likely to provide information related to a particular subject, the sequence of steps is retrieved from the database and the sequence of steps and an identification of the subject are provided to a second process. Information relating to the particular subject from the particular website is received from the second process.

Abstract: A method includes receiving an electronic query of a user directed to obtaining items of information belonging to one or more predefined categories and that relate to an interest of the user in a specified product, searching in multiple locations, and presenting to the user essentially only items of information that relate to the interest of the user and that belong to the categories, the items not being limited to a price and a source for the product and not being limited to items that have been pre-arranged for presentation to the user in reply to an online query that refers to the product.
