Patent number: 10619387Abstract: A handle set (30) comprises an elongated handle (40) that is attached to a corresponding door (32) at two spaced apart locations. A knob (42) is disposed on the door (32) opposite the handle (40). A retractor assembly (80) is interposed between the handle (40) and the knob (42). A handle spindle (62) extends from the handle (40), and a knob spindle (60) extends from the knob (42). The handle and knob spindle overlap one another, and are configured to move axially with one another. However, the knob spindle (60) can be rotated relative to the handle spindle (62). The spindles are configured to interact with the retractor assembly (80) so that pushing the handle (40) or pulling the knob (42) actuates the retractor to withdraw the latch bolt (50), or rotating the knob (42) actuates the retractor to withdraw the latch bolt (50).Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2014Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: Hampton Products International CorporationInventors: Xinmin Ou, Duane Luke, Jon Fong Quan, Steven T. Patent number: 10240362Abstract: A lockset (10) is actuable by pivoting a lever (14,16) about a longitudinal axis of the lockset (10) by rotating the lever (14,16) and by pivoting the lever (14,16) about an axis transverse to the lockset axis, such as by pushing or pulling. The lockset (10) includes an inside lever (14) and an outside lever (16), each associated with an independent mechanism, each of which can independently actuate the lockset (10). A keyed locking cylinder (250) is disposed axially in the outside lever (16) and pivots with the outside lever (16). The keyed lock cylinder (250) has an opening that pivotably engages an actuator (260). The actuator (260) extends into a retractor assembly (33) of the lockset (10) and is configured to perform an unlocking or locking function when actuated.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2014Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: Hampton Products International CorporationInventors: Xinmin Ou, Steven T. Weathersby, Shihao Chen, Guohua Liu, Jian Wen, Jon Fong Quan, Xinben Ou, Zhiman Yuan

Patent number: 9371671Abstract: A lockset has an actuator unit, a mounting unit and a latch retractor mechanism. The mounting unit attaches the lockset to a door and supports the actuator unit and latch retractor mechanism. The actuator unit includes inside and outside door knobs and a cam mechanism that move together within the mounting unit. During rotational movement, a first cam of the cam mechanism engages the latch retractor mechanism to retract the latch. The actuator is axially movable along an axis of the actuator unit when one of the knobs is pushed or pulled. During axial movement, a second cam of the cam mechanism engages the latch retractor mechanism to retract the latch. A locking mechanism is selectively actuable to act between the actuator unit and the mounting unit to prevent both rotational and axial movement of the actuator unit relative to the mounting unit, thereby locking the lockset.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2015Date of Patent: June 21, 2016Assignee: HAMPTON PRODUCTS INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventor: Steven T.
