  • Patent number: 10405525
Abstract: A frozen food aquarium feeder controls the melting and dispersion of frozen aquarium food. The feeder includes a rotatable first cylindrical column having a floor/ceiling including a set of passages and a rotatable second cylindrical column having a ceiling/floor including a matching set of passages. The cylindrical columns are assembled with an interference fit to a round bracket allowing each cylindrical column to be rotated with respect to the round bracket. The floor/ceiling of the first cylindrical column may reside against the ceiling/floor of the lower column, and the cylindrical columns may be positioned to provide a desired overlap between the passages to control the passage of melted food from the first cylindrical column to the second cylindrical column. The feeder may be positioned with the first cylindrical column extending above the aquarium water line, and ports in walls of the cylindrical columns may be positioned to intercept aquarium currents.

  • Publication number: 20180279586
Abstract: A seaweed aquarium feeder and method allows fish to feed on seaweed food while preventing escape of the food into aquarium water. The feeder includes a base and hinged lid which closes against the base. The lid includes a rectangular recessed seaweed holding windowed area which fits over a protruding rectangular platform of the base. Seaweed food is cut or folded into rectangular sheets captured between the recessed seaweed holding windowed area of the lid and the protruding platform of the base. Windows in the lid allow the fish access to the seaweed food while covering edges of the folded or cut seaweed to prevent tearing off pieces of pieces of the seaweed which may clog an aquarium filter. A magnet pocket in the base holds a first magnet the feeder is held against an aquarium wall by cooperation of the first magnet with a second magnet outside the aquarium.

  • Patent number: 9545085
Abstract: A coral holder resides in an aquarium and includes shelves with holes which accept coral plugs. The coral plugs are small round tables with cylindrical stems extending down from the table. Hobbyist take adult size living corals and “frag” them (i.e., cut the mother colony and break off a small section) and glue the coral fragments to the coral plugs. The coral plugs are inserted into the holes on the shelves providing a coral display. The holder includes a center section, a fixed top shelf and adjustable shelves. The adjustable shelves extend out sides and front of the center section and are adjustable allowing the aquarium owner to adjust the adjustable shelves accordingly to their needs (i.e., for the number of coral plugs). The positions of the shelves are fixed by inserting the coral plugs through the fixed top shelf and through the adjustable shelves.

  • Publication number: 20160219840
Abstract: A pellet and flake aquarium fish feeder allows a fish keeper to conveniently feed aquarium fish. The pellet and flake feeder includes a body having separable upper and lower portions. The upper portion includes a cavity for storing the pellet and flake food and a plunger shaft including indented rings. When the pellet and flake feeder is filled with pellet and flake food and assembled, the plunger may be depressed forcing the pellet and flake food through a conical passage between the upper and the lower portions, grinding the pellet and flake food and releasing the ground food through an angled bottom of the lower portion and into aquarium water.

  • Publication number: 20150373955
Abstract: A media reactor aquarium filter incorporates a simple design and allows simple media replacement. The filter includes co-axial inner and outer tubes. The outer tube includes a mounting feature and the inner tube holds the media and is removable without disturbing the outer tube. A pump at the base of the filter pumps water into the inner tube through ports at the base of the inner tube and up through the inner tube, and thus through the media. The filtered water then flows through the top wall of the inner tube and down between the inner and outer tubes, and back into the aquarium. The inner tube is rotatable to vary the alignment of the ports to adjust the water flow rate through the filter.

  • Patent number: 9125383
Abstract: An aquarium acclimation device and method reduce stress and shock which may occur during transition of marine livestock including fish, invertebrates, corals, etc., from a store, online, or wholesaler, to an owner's aquarium. The acclimation device includes tubing, a squeeze bulb, a drip counter, and a rolling clamp. A “J” tube is hung over an edge of the aquarium with one end reaching into water in the aquarium and an opposite end hanging outside the aquarium. The squeeze bulb is connected to the outside end of the “J” tube for initiation of a flow of the aquarium water from the aquarium and a clear squeeze bulb may further provide the drip counter. The rolling clamp and drip counter allow a gradual, observable, and controlled flow for a gradual controlled transition to the aquarium environment.

  • Publication number: 20060092643
Abstract: Apparatus for collecting light from an LED and transmitting it in a near-uniform column incudes a conical reflector having a roughed up inner surface about the base of the LED for collecting light emitted to the sides of the LED, and a lens specially designed to focus the collected light into a near-collimated beam. The lens has opposite, substantially elliptical surfaces to collect and collimate the rapidly diverging light from the LED and the reflector, and each lens surface includes a flat spot to prevent shadows from forming, thereby producing a more uniform beam.
