  • Publication number: 20050115737
Abstract: A cable management system is provided that facilitates routing of cables from a rack, frame or cabinet. The cable management system may be mounted in a vertical or a horizontal orientation, and generally includes a wire cage assembly and at least one cable guide mounted to the wire cage assembly. The wire cage assembly is fabricated from vertical and horizontal wires, such that open regions are positioned for advantageous interaction with the disclosed cable guide. The cable guide generally includes an elongated member, a plurality of projection arms extending from the elongated member; and at least one L-shaped latching member extending from the elongated member. The cable guide advantageously mounts to the wire cage assembly through a latching mechanism that interacts with the back wall of the wire cage assembly. A method for mounting the cable guide(s) to the wire cage assembly is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20030020379
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a cabinet with a removable and reversible door and, in preferred embodiments, a cabinet having a separable door to which is mounted two sets of hinges that are independently retractable to enable a user to easily and efficiently open a mounted door from left to right and from right to left, or to completely remove the door from the cabinet. The disclosed cabinet typically includes latch/hinge mechanisms that are mounted to the door and configured to engage the hinge openings associated with the door frame. A gear box assembly is advantageously utilized in a disclosed latch/hinge mechanism embodiment to effectuate the desired relative movement, and bushings associated with the latch/hinge mechanisms ensure appropriate spacing between the door and the door frame for desired door operation.

  • Patent number: 6461052
Abstract: An optical fiber management module assembly for mounting in a patch panel aperture and includes an adapter having a housing portion at its proximal end providing a cavity dimensioned and configured to seat the proximal end of a jack therein and having a channel portion at the other end providing a channel leading into the cavity. The housing portion has arms which engage the patch panel. Engaged with the distal end of the adapter is a projecting arm of a fiber management clip having an engagement portion at its proximal end with side walls defining a recess for the distal end of the jack. The clip also has a guidance portion at its other end thereon with channels extending longitudinally thereof in which optical fibers may be seated, and a latch extending over the channels and engaged with the guidance portion to retain the fibers in the channels.

  • Publication number: 20020046979
Abstract: An equipment rack is disclosed having two opposing structural support frames connected by a plurality of elongated beams defining an adjustable interior volume having a length, width and depth therein. Each opposing support frame has at least two posts defining two opposing sides. The posts are connected by a plurality of elongated cross beams which include a portion that extends outwardly from at least one of the opposing sides. At least two opposing rails are slidably mounted on the plurality of elongated cross beams to permit movement of the rails along the longitudinal axis of the elongated cross beams. Thus, the interior volume of the adjustable equipment rack may be adjusted, e.g., expanded by sliding the opposing rails of each opposing support frame along the plurality of cross beams and into the portion of the cross beams extending beyond the posts.

  • Patent number: 6365834
Abstract: A vertical wire management guide channel assembly for use in cable management racks has an elongated channel member formed of wire stock with a central web portion and side portions with open spaces between spaced wire rod elements. Vertically spaced pairs of arms project outwardly of the side portions and have a pair of vertically spaced horizontally extending rod elements and a vertically extending rod element between the outer ends thereof. Latch members extend transversely between the vertically extending rod portions of the arms, with one end of the latch member being pivotally engaged with the rod portion on one side of the channel member, and the other end of the latch member being releasably engaged with the rod portion on the other side of the channel member.

  • Patent number: 6278830
Abstract: A bend limiting fiber management clip for mounting on a panel has generally rectangular top and bottom walls, and a pillar extending between the top and bottom walls and arcuately between diagonal corners of the walls. Convexly arcuate retaining arms extend upwardly from the bottom wall to adjacent the top wall at the other diagonal corners of the walls, and a depending boss is provided on the bottom wall which seats in a cooperating aperture of a panel. The top wall may have an aperture cooperatively dimensioned with said boss in which the boss of a second clip may be engaged, and the arcuate retaining arms have outwardly inclined projections at the upper ends thereof extending upwardly from the top wall. Four clips are mounted in a rectangular array, and cables may be wound about the outer surface of the pillars or about the inner surface.
