Abstract: A pickup assembly for an agricultural harvester includes a pickup assembly frame including a forward portion and a rearward portion. A pair of gauge wheels are attached to the forward portion of the pickup assembly frame, and at least one support wheel is attached to the rearward portion of the pickup assembly frame. The relative position of the support wheel is adjustable with respect to the pickup assembly frame.

Abstract: A crop processor for cracking kernels in a forage harvester, the crop processor including: a housing having an inlet and an outlet; and a first and a second comminuting roll mounted inside the housing, the comminuting rolls being arranged in parallel to define an opening between the rolls, the comminuting rolls being configured to rotate, during use, in opposing rotation directions to transport a flow of harvested crop, received from the inlet, through the opening towards the outlet, wherein the first comminuting roll is configured to rotate at a greater speed than the second comminuting roll; wherein the first and second comminuting rolls each include a plurality of teeth arranged on a circumferential surface of the comminuting roll, each of the plurality of teeth includes a leading edge which faces in the rotation direction of that comminuting roll.

Abstract: A method for sharpening cutting knives carried by a cutter drum in a housing of an agricultural vehicle includes: rotating the cutter drum while keeping a sharpening door closed so an overpressure is created inside the housing, the sharpening door shielding a sharpening stone from the cutting knives while creating the overpressure; opening a transition door of the housing below the cutter drum to eject crop material through the open transition door; opening the sharpening door to expose the cutting knives to the sharpening stone and closing the transition door; grinding one or more of the cutting knives with the exposed sharpening stone; and closing the sharpening door to shield the sharpening stone from the cutting knives after grinding.

Abstract: A pick-up, an agricultural implement, and a method for ejecting a foreign object by the crop pick-up and the agricultural implement are provided. The agricultural implement comprises a crop inlet to collect picked-up crop. The crop pick-up comprises a reel with pick-up fingers to pick up the crop from the field, an auger to transport the picked-up crop to the crop inlet of the agricultural implement, and a driver. The driver rotates the reel and the auger in a pick-up direction and a collection direction for picking up and transporting the crop, and a retrieval direction for retrieving already collected crop when a foreign object is detected in the collected crop. The crop pick-up further comprises an ejector to actively rotate the reel in an ejection direction for ejecting the retrieved crop.

Abstract: A pick-up, an agricultural implement, and a method for ejecting a foreign object by the crop pick-up and the agricultural implement are provided. The agricultural implement comprises a crop inlet to collect picked-up crop. The crop pick-up comprises a reel with pick-up fingers to pick up the crop from the field, an auger to transport the picked-up crop to the crop inlet of the agricultural implement, and drive means. The drive means rotate the reel and the auger in a pick-up direction and a collection direction for picking up and transporting the crop, and a retrieval direction for retrieving already collected crop when a foreign object is detected in the collected crop. The crop pick-up further comprises ejection means to actively rotate the reel in an ejection direction for ejecting the retrieved crop.
