  • Patent number: 4379714
Abstract: A method for regulating the granulometric characteristics of the components in metallurgical slags comprising the step of imparting a vibration to the slag, after the separation of the slag from the metallurgical furnace while the slag is being cooled. The imparted vibration frequency and amplitude is adjustable and ranges respectively from 12 to 100 Hz and 0.2 to 5 mm and when circular vibration is imparted from 0.4 to 12 mm.

  • Patent number: 4267046
Abstract: A method for concentrating and dewatering fine-grained materials wherein the material is delivered by a feeder to the central portion of a pressing chamber in an arcuately shaped housing. A profiled sieve is mounted in the housing. An electric motor imparts a vertical-elliptical oscillatory motion to the housing at a frequency up to 160 Hz and at an amplitude from up to 5 mm.An apparatus for performing the aforementioned method, comprising a frame on which an electric motor is secured. A housing is supported by springs on the frame. The housing is arcuately shaped and a sieve extends along the whole length of the arcuately shaped housing. The sieve divides the housing into a pressing chamber and a dewatering chamber. In the bottom portion of the dewatering chamber there is provided a pipe for discharging liquid from the dewatering chamber. In the axes of the springs supporting the housing there are provided regulator bolts for limiting the amplitude of the vibratory motion of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4240903
Abstract: A method of reverse stratification of solid particulate material, in which heavy particles move upwards and lighter particles move downwards. The material intended for stratification is supplied as a water-solids mixture moving at the bottom of a vessel. The material is submitted to vibration so that the quantity of material intended for stratification with respect to the quantity of water is in the ratio of 1:0.2 to 1:0.5 by weight.

  • Patent number: 4184965
Abstract: Extraction apparatus wherein solid and liquid phases are subjected to vibro-acoustical action in order to intensify the extraction process. The apparatus includes an enclosure forming a working perforated vessel, spring means mounting such vessel for vibratory movement, a vibrator mounted on the vessel to vibrate it, two laterally displaced feeding openings for receiving, respectively, solid particulate material and liquid, two spaced discharge outlets on the cell for discharging, respectively, solid material and liquid.

  • Patent number: 4109874
Abstract: Apparatus for processing ore by a combined milling, froth flotation and size classifying operation, wherein A milling chamber contains elastomeric milling bodies situated between first and second screens. The milling chamber is provided with an agitating means for vertical vibration of the milling bodies. A first outlet on the milling chamber removes froth. A second outlet below the first and lowermost screen removes the coarser components.

  • Patent number: 4088716
Abstract: Material treating apparatus including one or more pneumo-hydraulic vibrators. The apparatus includes a container with cells separated by at least one valve lying on a supporting frame, the valve having a movable valve element which is urged toward its valve-closed position by the hydrostatic pressure and optionally also by springs. On one side of the valve there is an air cell connected with a source of air under pressure, and on the other side of the valve there is a second cell containing a liquid or a liquid suspension of material to be treated. When the air cell is subjected to air under pressure, the movable valve element vibrates and generates intensive vibro-pulsation turbulent streams in the liquid material in the second cell.
