Abstract: This invention relates to compositions for the management and treatment of water used for the production of oil and gas products comprising an electro-chemically activated, cation or anion-containing aqueous solution (catholyte or anolyte), and to a system and process for their production. A plant is described for treating water used for petroleum production and products including a water reservoir (15), a salt feed device (19) for creating an aqueous salt solution, an electrolysis device (21) to produce anolyte and catholyte solutions, an anolyte tank (31), a cation tank (32) and an anion holding/transport container (33) from which solution is injected into a petroleum processing, petroleum production enhancement or petroleum product application.

Abstract: This invention is directed toward process and material optimization of electrolytic cell separation processes designed to generate consistent electrolytic solutions in a better salt-converting and efficient manner, as well as to increase the amount of free available chlorine generated by the electro-chemical activation of the salt. This is generally accomplished by provision of ceramic diaphragm and/or polymer membranes characterized by optimal design, construction, manufacturing, and assemblage to exacting and precise specifications with respect to chemical and material compositions, slurry formulations, ceramic mold tolerances, ceramic firing and curing conditions, dimensional measurements for thickness, dimensional measurements for gapping and placement between the anode and cathode electrodes, and machining tolerance control.

Abstract: A fabric softening composition which comprises a water insoluble cationic fabric softening agent of formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, or hydroxyalkyl groups or C.sub.2-4 alkenyl groups, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently selected from C.sub.7-27 alkyl or alkenyl groups; and n is an integer from 0-5 and X is methyl sulphate. The claimed fabric softening composition exhibits good stability on storage.

Abstract: An aqueous, liquid bleaching composition is described having a pH of from 2 to 6 and comprising a solid, particulate, substantially water-insoluble, organic peroxy acid such as diperoxy dodecane dioic acid. This peroxy acid is stably suspended in an aqueous liquid by a structuring combination of a secondary C.sub.10 -C.sub.20 alkane sulphonate, an ethoxylated fatty alcohol and sodium sulphate.
