Abstract: A method for routing emergency calls is provided for emergency calls placed over a packet-switched network (310) from a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) (110) at a remote location (100). The method includes: registering the CPE (110) with a home Internet Service Provider (ISP) (260) through a remote ISP (130) that is providing the CPE (110) access to the packet-switched network (310); determining that the CPE is at a remote location (100); obtaining a local Internet Protocol (IP) address that corresponds to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) (170) serving the remote location (100); routing non-emergency calls to the home ISP (260) for call processing; and, handling emergency calls locally at the remote ISP (130) in accordance with the obtained local IP address.

Abstract: A method of establishing a call over a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) (20) is provided. The PSTN (20) includes an End Office (EO) (40) serving a calling party's Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE) (10, 70). The method includes: receiving at a network element (22) of the PSTN (20) a message requesting establishment of the call over the PSTN (20), the message being received over a packet-switched network (30) and identifying the calling party's CPE (10, 70) from which the call is to be placed; and, notifying the EO (40) serving the calling party's CPE (10, 70) of the request for establishment of the call such that the EO (40) treats the call as a terminating call as opposed to an originating call.

Abstract: A garment hanger is provided and includes a body having first and second ends and an upper edge and a hook member extending upwardly from the hanger body for suspending the hanger from a support location. The hook member is coupled to a base member that is attached to the upper edge of the body. The hanger also includes at least one fastener receiving feature that is associated with the hook member and is defined by a tapered recessed body that has a through hole formed therethrough and is of sufficient size to receive a fastener therethrough for securely linking at least one additional garment hanger to the hanger body.
