  • Publication number: 20040260761
Abstract: A system and method are presented for discovering mobile collaborators on a peer-to-peer (P2P) network. Each collaborator is identified on the P2P network by a unique ID. Each collaborator may also be identified by an identity file posted on the P2P network. Collaboration applications may include any of a variety of applications involving the exchange of information between 2 or more collaborators, such as voice over IP (VoIP). Dynamic file querying can be performed to filter the identity files most relevant to a particular peer partner. Web services are used end-to-end between P2P mobile devices and also between devices and third party service providers. Search engines use self-provisioning concepts for searches and WEB services querying. End-user devices register their personal information on P2P networks using identity self-provisioning and WEB services templates for a variety of uses, such as personal, gaming or business.

  • Patent number: 6711714
Abstract: A method for linearizing framesets for audibly rendering structured document frames, in accordance with the present invention, includes accessing a document including a frameset. Frames of the frameset are ranked in accordance with positional locations of each frame in the frameset such that each frame is uniquely ordered in the frameset. A linearized document is generated for the frameset for rendering by an audio browser.

  • Publication number: 20030218638
Abstract: A mobile reality apparatus, system and method for navigating a site are provided. The method includes the steps of determining a location of a user by receiving a location signal from a location-dependent device; loading and displaying a 3D scene of the determined location; determining an orientation of the user; adjusting a viewpoint of the 3D scene by the determined orientation; determining if the user is within a predetermined distance of an object of interest; and loading a speech dialog of the object of interest. The system includes a plurality of location-dependent devices for transmitting a signal indicative of each devices' location; and a navigation device including a tracking component for determining a position and orientation of the user; a graphic management component for displaying scenes of the site to the user on a display; and a speech interaction component for instructing the user.

  • Publication number: 20030204558
Abstract: A general interaction interface system comprises a composite device access point connected to a client device, wherein the composite device is adapted to receive a request from the client device. The system further comprises a composite device gateway connected to the composite device access point, wherein the composite device gateway determines content and delivery parameters based on interaction primitives of the composite device access point, and a composite device resource, selected by the composite device gateway, for servicing the request of the client device.

  • Publication number: 20030187656
Abstract: A method for the computer-supported transformation of structured documents into a modified, structured document which can be read and/or processed via an IVR browser. Here, an analysis of a source code which forms the structured document is carried out with a transformation of the structured document into a modified, structured document using a source code which can be read by the IVR browser, a modification of the source code of the structured document being carried out in order to define a speech-based menu structure. In the case of cross-references to a telephone subscriber number, a transformation of the source code in the modified, structured document is carried out in order to support a communications connection in conjunction with a communications device.

  • Publication number: 20030121002
Abstract: A method for exchanging information through speech via a packet-oriented network having a WWW Server connected via the packet-oriented network, an information host computer which is connected to the packet-oriented network, and a speech-based browser which is connected to the information host computer. Here, a structured document which is generated with a format-based Editor is transmitted to the WWW Server and stored there with an access information item. When structured documents are accessed via the speech-based browser when the access information is present, transfer takes place to the information host computer in which an analysis of the structured document is carried out. After analysis has taken place, instructions for graphic structuring into instructions for an audible output form are modified in the structured document.

  • Publication number: 20020078154
Abstract: A method for synchronous wireless application protocol messaging is provided according to an embodiment of the present invention. The method provides each of two or more clients to a wireless application protocol chat server with an identification, creates a wireless markup language document including a client profile and a client posted message, and synchronizes each clients view of the wireless markup language document that the moderator is navigating.

  • Publication number: 20020004817
Abstract: A distributed device is provided including a plurality of autonomous components which cooperate with a gateway component to provide a service to a wireless device component through at least one resource provided by at least one client component, the gateway component which assigns the service to the resource. The gateway component synchronizes two of more services provided to the wireless device component. The client component and the gateway component communicate through one of a wireless connection and a wire-line connection.

  • Patent number: 6249766
Abstract: A down-sampling system for digital waveforms performs real-time, “on the fly”, conversions and results in data of acceptable quality for many applications including applications dealing primarily with speech data. The down-sampler comprises a weight matrix calculator and a loop in which the system takes the input data from the producer's data stream, and at one chunk at a time, the system generates the output data. The loop comprises an input receiver, a chunk receiver, an output chunk generator, a chunk decider for deciding whether there is another chunk in the input, and an input decider for deciding whether there is more input.
