  • Patent number: 11316663
Abstract: Techniques for authentication using a blockchain hash value as a moving factor. The techniques include retrieving, by an authenticating device and from a blockchain, a current hash value of the blockchain, where the authenticating device and an authenticator server share a secret key value and each have access to the blockchain. The techniques further including generating, by the authenticating device, a secure token based on the secret key value and the current hash value. The techniques further including transmitting the secure token to the authenticator server and receiving an indication of authentication from the authenticator server.

  • Patent number: 10833520
Abstract: A wireless communications unit is provided, such as a portable unit to serve as an access point and/or a repeater node in a wireless meshing network, including at least two removable power source modules engageable with and electrically connectable to the unit to provide electrical power thereto, and a mechanism to allow selective disconnection and removal of one power source module from the unit while maintaining connection and retention to the unit of another power source module. The mechanism comprises a rotatable wheel having a radially projecting portion (such as a cam lobe). When the wheel is rotated the projecting portion bears against a part of the first power source module to push it into an ejected position while electrically disconnecting it from the unit, to allow removal and recharge/replacement.

  • Patent number: 9721006
Abstract: Systems and methods for searching a document corpus and generating search queries are disclosed. A method includes providing for display a graphical user interface having two or more sections, and providing for generation of an initial search query based on locations of query terms entered into the graphical user interface. Sections of the graphical user interface indicate a query status. A revised search query based on a location of the query terms within the graphical user interface is generated following the manipulation of one or more of the query terms. Movement of a selected query term from a first section to a second section of the graphical user interface changes the query status of the selected query term from a first query status to a second query status. A search of the database is performed using the revised search query to return an updated set of electronic documents for display.

  • Patent number: 9449197
Abstract: A mobile device operating system pools any available entropy. The resulting entropy pool is stored in device memory. When storing entropy in memory, preferably memory addresses are randomly allocated to prevent an attacker from capturing entropy that might have already been used to create a random number. The stored entropy pool provides a readily-available entropy source for any entropy required by the operating system or device applications. Then, when a cryptographic application requests a true random number, the operating system checks to determine whether the pool has available entropy and, if so, a portion of the entropy is provided to enable generation (e.g., by a TRNG) of a true random number that, in turn, may then be used for some cryptographic operation. After providing the entropy, the operating system clears the address locations that were used to provide it so that another entity cannot re-use the entropy.

  • Publication number: 20090070301
Abstract: A method of automatically sending an alert message when the status of one or more documents has changed is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a computer system, instructions from a user to monitor the status of a first type of information for a first selected document. The method further includes monitoring, by the computer system, the status of the first type of information for the first selected document. The method also includes, when the status of the first type of information for the first selected document has changed, sending, by the computer system, an alert message to the user to indicate that the status of the document has changed.

  • Patent number: 6337608
Abstract: A transformer for connection between a generator and a load may be formed by connecting n transmission lines together, in series at one end and in parallel at the other end. The transmission lines are configured to each have a characteristic impedance of {square root over (RG+L |ZL+L (f0+L |)}, where f0 is the frequency at which each transmission line is one quarter of a wavelength long (quarter-wavelength frequency), |ZL(f0)| is the magnitude of the load impedance at the quarter-wavelength frequency, and RG is the generator resistance. The transformer exhibits a frequency-dependent impedance transformation ratio, allowing a more efficient impedance match of a generator to a load having a frequency-dependent impedance, such as an antenna.

  • Patent number: 6329958
Abstract: An antenna structure may be formed by arranging a current-restricting structure upon a conductive surface. The current-restricting structure may be formed from a ferrite material, and may be in forms including a belt, tiles, or a patterned deposited layer. The conductive surface may be associated with a vehicle or structure. The current-restricting structure alters the paths taken by current on or beneath the conductive surface when a voltage is applied between portions of the surface.

  • Patent number: 6329955
Abstract: A broadband antenna incorporating both electric and magnetic dipole radiators includes a tapered feed, such as a bow-tie feed, having a central feedpoint and first and second outer regions displaced from the central feedpoint. One or more conducting loop elements are connected between the outer regions of the tapered feed. Top loading capacitive elements extending from each of the outer regions may also be provided.

  • Patent number: 6323821
Abstract: A tapered, inverted-L bow-tie antenna is disclosed which includes a bow-tie antenna component connected to a central feed and having top-loading elements connected to each bow-tie half opposite the central feed. According to the invention, a series inductance is introduced between the feed and the antenna tips, and preferably at the transition between the bow-tie halves and the top-loading elements. In a preferred embodiment, the inductive loading is introduced by a buttonhook or hairpin curve in the antenna region between the bow-tie portion and the tapered portion. The added inductance reduces the capacitive reactance. The low impedance partway on stem also increases current flow, and thus the antenna's performance. The input impedance is also increased, making it easier to match the antenna to a driving hardware. The antenna can be used by itself or in combination with a log periodic dipole array.

  • Patent number: 6154182
Abstract: An extensible top-loaded biconical antenna is modified to improve low frequency performance while retaining standard performance specifications when needed. The biconical antenna includes a balun and a pair of conical outrigger assemblies coupled to said balun. A conducting tophat plate is removably attached to the ends of each outrigger assembly. The tophats increase the capacitance of the antenna, thereby improving its low frequency gain by 10 dB or more.
