  • Publication number: 20210097456
Abstract: A smart gateway platform leverages pre-defined industrial expertise to identify limited subsets of available industrial data deemed relevant to a desired business objective, and to collect and model this relevant data to apply useful constraints on subsequent artificial intelligence or machine learning analytics applied to the data. This approach can reduce the data space to which AI analytics are applied and assist data analytic systems to more quickly derive valuable insights and business outcomes. In some embodiments, the smart gateway platform can operate within the context of a multi-level industrial analytic system, feeding pre-modeled data to one or more AI or machine learning systems executing on one or more different levels of an industrial enterprise. The multi-level industrial analytic system can also further refine modeled industrial data as the data moves upward through the system (e.g., from the device level to higher levels).

  • Publication number: 20210096541
Abstract: An industrial device supports device-level data modeling that pre-models data stored in the device with known relationships, correlations, key variable identifiers, and other such metadata to assist higher-level analytic systems to more quickly and accurately converge to actionable insights relative to a defined business or analytic objective. Data at the device level can be modeled according to modeling templates stored on the device that define relationships between items of device data for respective analytic goals (e.g., improvement of product quality, maximizing product throughput, optimizing energy consumption, etc.). This device-level modeling data can be provided to higher level systems together with their corresponding data tag values to high level analytic systems, which discovers insights into an industrial process or machine based on analysis of the data and its modeling data.

  • Patent number: 10928803
Abstract: Blockchain-enabled industrial devices and associated systems are configured to support the use of industrial blockchains in connection with product and machine tracking, subscription-based industrial services, device lifecycle management, and other functions. Collections of industrial devices can collectively serve as an industrial blockchain system, with multiple such systems within a supply chain yielding an industrial blockchain ecosystem. This architecture can create distributed, decentralized, tamper-proof records of manufacturing statistics for a product, a product's history within the larger supply chain, industrial asset usage histories that can be leveraged in connection with lifecycle management, machine usage history for use in connection with subscription-based machine operation, and other such information.

  • Patent number: 10928788
Abstract: An industrial control system may receive processing information from at least two control systems associated with at least two components within an industrial automation system. The processing information may include a processing load value for each of the at least two control systems. The industrial control system may then distribute processing loads associated with the at least two control systems when a total processing load between the at least two control systems is unbalanced.

  • Patent number: 10656630
Abstract: An industrial control system may receive data associated with at least one component within an industrial automation system. The industrial control system may then determine whether the data is associated with at least one of a plurality of data tags, such that the at least one of the plurality of data tags describes at least one characteristic of the data. The industrial control system may then broadcast the data and the at least one of the plurality of data tags in a data feed channel when the data is associated with the at least one of the plurality of data tags.

  • Patent number: 10185600
Abstract: Aspects describe multiple interface support that provides dynamic switching between new and old interface revisions. A first interface application is selected from a set of alternative interface applications for an industrial automation system. Support for each interface application included in the set of alternative interface applications is provided. A second interface application is downloaded and associated with the first interface application. The second interface application is enabled during runtime. If needed, the second interface application can be selectively disabled and an operation resumed with the first interface application.

  • Publication number: 20180270321
Abstract: An industrial automation component may receive identification information associated with a user of the industrial automation component and determine whether a profile that corresponds to the identification information exists in a database. When the profile does not exist, the industrial automation component may receive a graphical interface template configured to be displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI) associated with the industrial automation component, one or more parameter names configured to associate one or more measurements acquired by the industrial automation component, pre-load information comprising data configured to enable the industrial automation component to operate, or any combination thereof. The industrial automation component may then and generate a user interface view for the GUI based on the graphical interface template, the parameter names, the pre-load information, or any combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 10048657
Abstract: An industrial control configuration can be a dynamic entity where different controllers are added, are subtracted, fail, etc. When dynamic functions occur, bindings of the configuration can benefit from a modification. Therefore, automatic adjustment of bindings can occur to facilitated improved operation. Automatic adjustment can be practiced when the industrial control configuration is a distributed control configuration without reliance upon a central database.
