  • Patent number: 11358568
Abstract: A system and method are provided that enables windshield wiper blades to be replaced without the complexity of removing and reattaching adapters to the wiper arms with every wiper blade replacement cycle. The wiper blade adapter is reusable and stays connected to the windshield wiper arm while providing a simple connecting system that enables the attachment of the wiper blade to the base of the adapters. The adapters are made of engineered plastic that does not wear as quickly as the rubber squeegee and does not need to be replaced as often as the wiper blade. The reusable wiper blade adapter employs a simple mating connector on the wiper blade that provides for an intuitive motion to attach and detach from the base of the adapter thus providing for a simpler blade replacement process.

  • Publication number: 20100146728
Abstract: A wiper blade made of a compound having a methyl vinyl silicone polymer, a filler, and a friction-reducing additive is provided. The friction-reducing additive is present in an amount from between about 5 and 42 weight percent. The average particle size of the friction-reducing additive is preferably less than about 25 microns, thereby permitting extrusion of the compound into the shape of a wiper blade. Polytetrafluoroethylene is preferred as a friction-reducing additive, but other substances, such as boron nitride or graphite could be used.

  • Patent number: 7351449
Abstract: Flame produced vapors for combustion chemical vapor deposition are redirected from the direction of the flame by differential atmospheric pressure, such as positive pressure provided by a blower or negative pressure provided by a vacuum. This allows, for example, lower surface temperatures of substrates being coated with flame-produced vapors and coating of interior surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7282238
Abstract: A coherent material is formed on a substrate (10) by providing a precursor suspension (14) in which particulates are suspended in a carrier fluid, and directing the precursor suspension (14) at the substrate (10) from a first source (12). Generally contemporaneously with application of the deposited precursor suspension (14) to the surface, hot gases, e.g. hot gases produced by a flame (16), are directed at the substrate (10) from a remote second source (18) to fuse the particulates into the coherent material.
