  • Patent number: 11599883
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to methods, systems, and devices for the use of portable devices, such as a vehicle driven by a user, that are distinctive physical objects and can be presented to an authentication system for authentication purposes. More specifically, the portable device may be used as a source of information for the authentication system that can be verified. Images may be captured of the portable devices in order to determine their distinctive features for comparison to other physical objects registered to the user. The portable devices may also be a source of metadata, or additional contextual information associated with those portable devices or their interaction with the authentication system. The image data and/or the metadata associated with a portable device can be verified for fraud or risk analysis.

  • Publication number: 20230033988
Abstract: Methods and systems for consensus-based online authentication are provided. An encryption device may be authenticated based on an authentication cryptogram generated by the encryption device. The encryption device may transmit a request for security assessment to one or more support devices. The support devices may individually assess the encryption device, other security devices, and contextual information. The support devices may choose to participate in a multi-party computation with the encryption device based on the security assessments. Support devices that choose to participate may transmit one or more secret shares or partial computations to the encryption device. The encryption device may use the secret shares or partial computations to generate an authentication cryptogram. The authentication cryptogram may be transmitted to a decryption device, which may decrypt the authentication cryptogram, evaluate its contents, and authenticate the encryption device based on its contents.

  • Patent number: 9910997
Abstract: Securing a credential is disclosed. A reference to the credential that will provide access to a service is stored in a credential store. The credential from the credential store is provided to an application execution platform having access to the credential store. The application execution platform includes an interface to access the service using the credential. • Patent number: 9288193
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates authenticating cloud services that execute in an untrusted cloud computing environment. During operation, a verifying party receives a request for a credential from a compute instance that is executing in the untrusted cloud computing environment. This request includes one or more metadata parameters that are associated with the compute instance. The verifying party queries a management interface for the untrusted cloud computing environment to retrieve a second set of metadata parameters for the compute instance, and then compares the two sets of parameters. If the values for the two sets of parameters match, the verifying party grants the credential to the requesting compute instance. Otherwise, the verifying party denies the request.

  • Publication number: 20130263237
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to authenticate and authorize a user for web services using personas. In various embodiments, a selection of a persona symbol of the user from a plurality of stored persona symbols may be received via a user device corresponding to the user. Each persona symbol may comprise at least one symbol and correspond to a respective persona of a plurality of personas. Each persona may indicate a unique identity of the user for one or more web services and comprise one or more attributes populated with at least one portion of user attribute information. The persona corresponding to the persona symbol being selected may be activated. At least one attribute of the one or more attributes of the persona being activated may be transmitted to the one or more web services over a network.
