  • Publication number: 20230018104
Abstract: A method implemented on a UE includes determining an application class of an application, and permitting or barring access by the application to a communication network according to a comparison of the determined application with a rule to provide application class based access control. The application is classified into the determined application class. The application is classified into the determined application class by a home network. The application is classified into the determined application class by a 3GPP layer. The application is classified into the determined application class by a visited network. The visited network classifies the application into a further application class. The rule includes a list of applications for permitting or barring access by the applications according to the comparison of the determined application class with the rule.

  • Publication number: 20210392454
Abstract: A user equipment in a vehicle (V-UE) may transmit ranging signals, for example positioning reference signals (PRS), via inter-vehicle messages. The broadcast parameters for the ranging signals, such as the timing of transmission, the bandwidth, or a combination thereof, may be adjusted based on one or more motion characteristics of the vehicle. If high speed or large acceleration, or rate of turning, is detected, the rate of transmission and/or the resource blocks included in the ranging signals may be increased. By increasing the rate of transmission and/or recourse blocks in the ranging signals, other vehicles receiving the ranging signals may update the range more often and with greater accuracy for increased safety while the transmitting vehicle is traveling at high speeds or acceleration.

  • Patent number: 10854022
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to techniques for sharing sensor information. The techniques may be practiced, for example, in a vehicle to vehicle (V2V) environment, where frequency resources are mapped based on vehicle location(s).

  • Patent number: 10299225
Abstract: A method, computer-readable medium, and apparatus operate to reduce or eliminate interference with one or more other communication systems having specific transmission requirements within a specific geographic area. For example, aspects operate by determining that a user equipment (UE) is in a protection zone where additional transmission requirements apply. The additional transmission requirements enable coexistence with one or more other communication systems in the protection zone. The UE may identify, based on being in the protection zone and a coexistence mode, one or more transmit emission limit requirements to be met. The UE may identify, based on being in the protection zone and the coexistence mode, one or more maximum transmit power requirements to be met. The UE may configure a transmit output power, at which the UE can meet the one or more transmit emission limit requirements and the one or more maximum transmit power requirements.

  • Patent number: 10178531
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) data sharing. The sensor data collected from each vehicle may be divided into common information and detailed information. The common information is broadcasted to every other nearby vehicle. Based on the received common information other vehicles may express interest in some particular detailed information. Unicast and/or multicast sessions may be set up to share the detailed information with the interested vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20060171296
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for determining a serving sector using a signal received from a base station. A received signal strength measurer measures a strength of a pilot signal received from the serving sector and a strength of a pilot signal received from a sector in an active set. A controller then calculates a difference between the strength of the pilot signal received from the serving sector and the strength of the pilot signal received from the sector in the active set, updates selection parameters by comparing the calculated difference with a predetermined threshold, and selects a best serving sector from the active sectors in the active set using the updated selection parameters and comparative parameters. A memory can be implemented to store the parameters.
