  • Patent number: 7499654
Abstract: An image recording apparatus having a transport path of a recording material, and an image recording unit in the transport path which records an image in the recording material in the process of transporting the recording material in the transport path. It includes: a recording material detection unit which is provided in the transport path and detects the edge at a side end of the recording material transported in the transport path; an operation mode determination unit for discriminating whether or not incorrect detection can be performed in detecting the edge by the recording material detection unit, and determining an operation mode based on the discrimination result; and a control unit for controlling by the image recording unit an image recording process on the recording material in the operation mode.

  • Patent number: 6715856
Abstract: There is disclosed an image-recording apparatus including a recoding head, a carriage which is reciprocatable along a main scanning direction, and carriage-driving mechanism for moving the carriage along the main scanning direction. The carriage-driving mechanism reciprocates the carriage so that a phase of a periodic speed fluctuation of the carriage during a forward movement deviates from the phase of the periodic speed fluctuation during a backward movement.

  • Patent number: 5270742
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus for forming a static latent image using ions as a medium, an ion generation formed by stacking a plurality of line electrodes, a plurality of finger electrodes, and a screen electrode with dielectric layers being sandwiched therebetween is arranged to oppose a dielectric drum on which the electrostatic latent image is to be formed. A static induction transistor for switching an RF high-voltage signal at a high speed is connected to each line electrode of the ion generator. Each static induction transistor is also connected to a DC high-voltage power source via a coil. When each static induction transistor is driven at a high frequency by a source drive circuit, an RF high voltage is applied to a corresponding line electrode. A voltage is supplied to a parallel resonator constituted by the coil and a line electrode capacitance to start resonance, thereby obtaining an output for ion generation.
