  • Publication number: 20230395822
Abstract: A first positioning hole is formed in a first positioning portion of a separator member, which is a fuel cell separator member forming a fuel cell stack. The first positioning portion includes a reinforcing rib and a joint portion. The reinforcing rib extends linearly outside the first positioning hole and protrudes from each of a first metal separator and a second metal separator. The joint portion is located between the reinforcing rib and the first positioning hole, and the first metal separator and the second metal separator are joined together at the joint portion.

  • Publication number: 20230317977
Abstract: A second separator (fuel cell separator) of a power generation cell is provided with a second separator body. Second flow field grooves and second flow field protrusions are alternately arranged on the surface of the second separator body. The second flow field protrusions includes first curved convex portions and second curved convex portions alternately arranged in the first direction. The first curved convex portion is formed with a first communication groove communicating with mutually adjacent second flow field grooves, and the second curved convex portion is formed with a second communication groove communicating with mutually adjacent second flow field grooves.

  • Publication number: 20230223562
Abstract: A fuel cell separator includes a coolant flow field formed between first and second metal separator plates. A first communication hole is formed in an outer peripheral wall of each of passage sealing beads that surround respectively an air vent passage and a coolant drain passage which are formed so as to penetrate in a separator thickness direction. A second communication hole is formed in an inner peripheral wall of each of the passage sealing beads. The first communication hole and the second communication hole are positioned to be displaced from each other in an extending direction of a first internal channel or a second internal channel.

  • Publication number: 20220173414
Abstract: A method of producing a separator for use in a fuel cell includes forming a press joint body including a seal member, a first metal separator, and a second metal separator, and plastically deforming the press joint body by applying a preliminary load to the press joint body in a height direction of the press joint body at a predetermined compression amount. The predetermined compression amount is changed based on a material characteristic of at least one of the seal member, the first metal separator, or the second metal separator.

  • Patent number: 10559835
Abstract: A resin-framed membrane-electrode assembly for a fuel cell includes a stepped membrane-electrode assembly and a resin frame member. The stepped membrane-electrode assembly includes a polymer electrolyte membrane, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The resin frame member surrounds an outer perimeter of the polymer electrolyte membrane and includes an inner perimeter base end and an inner protruding portion. The inner protruding portion includes a flat surface portion which extends to face an outer perimeter surface portion of a second surface of the polymer electrolyte membrane and on which an adhesive layer is provided so that the adhesive layer lies at least between the flat surface portion and the outer perimeter surface portion. The adhesive layer has a tapered shape in which a thickness of the adhesive layer increases from a tip of the inner protruding portion toward the inner perimeter base end.
