  • Publication number: 20200108366
Abstract: An apparatus for use in radial flow reactors is presented. The apparatus includes a first partition and a second partition with supports coupled therebetween. The first partition includes a first opening and a second opening to allow the passage of fluid therethrough. A baffle extends into a flow channel formed by adjacent support members to completely obstruct the first opening to interrupt a portion of the fluid flow therethrough. The baffle extends upwardly from one of the supports.

  • Patent number: 9044723
Abstract: An inclined baseplate for a radial bed reactor improves solids flow from the bottom of the reactor. Gas flow can be improved by utilizing an aerated baseplate or by providing a non-porous section of outer perforated cylinder in the area below the level of the bottom of the inner perforated cylinder.

  • Patent number: 8419835
Abstract: Cyclones for gas-solid separators are described, which are especially applicable for use in a downflowing third stage separator (TSS) for the removal of dust particles, such as solid catalyst fines, from the flue gas streams exiting the catalyst regenerator in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) processes. A number of important flow characteristics result from the configuration of the cyclones, particularly with respect to the relative axial lengths over which swirl vanes and central hubs of the cyclones extend. These characteristics include a decrease in growth of turbulent eddies that conventionally result from a sudden expansion, in open cross-sectional area, of gas exiting swirl vanes.
