  • Publication number: 20230410080
Abstract: A payment management system and method of managing a payment network includes generating a payment token based on a bank account of a user (e.g., a buyer), receiving a dynamic code through a network for a transaction, and validating a request for payment of the transaction using an installment plan based on funds from the bank account. The validating the request for payment of the transaction is performed based on operations which include authenticating the payment token and verifying the dynamic code. In addition, the method includes generating a decision signal indicating a decision for the request when the request for payment is validated and transmitting the decision signal to a merchant system to authorize or decline completion of the transaction.

  • Publication number: 20230042737
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a deferred real-time payment (RTP) in a trusted and secure system environment to pay for a deferred fulfillment order. The deferred fulfillment order includes products or services that may be fulfilled in part or in full after authorization of the deferred RTP. To facilitate trust and security, a deferred payment system may digitally sign certificates issued to various entities in the system environment. Devices in the system environment may transmit and receive messages to create and later settle deferred RTPs that are trusted based on authentication of the digitally signed certificates, which mitigate against security threats such as man-in-the-middle attacks in a communication network.

  • Patent number: 11386432
Abstract: A request for a refund is received relative to a payment transaction implemented in a real-time payment system. The request is transmitted to an issuer financial institution that maintains an account for the payer in the payment transaction. A response is received from the issuer financial institution. The response is transmitted to an acquirer financial institution that provides financial services to the recipient of the payment transaction. A first transfer message is transmitted to the issuer financial institution directing the issuer financial institution to credit a refund amount to the payer's account and to debit a settlement holding account maintained by the issuer financial institution. A second transfer message is transmitted to the acquirer financial institution to debit the refund amount from the recipient's account. The refund amount is settled from the acquirer financial institution to the issuer financial institution via a payment card account network settlement system.

  • Patent number: 10924477
Abstract: A system and computer-implemented method for client identification and verification includes a memory device for storing data and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory device. The processor is programmed to receive merchant identification data corresponding to a merchant. The merchant identification data includes identification data relating to the identity of the merchant and a primary authorized user for the merchant. The processor is also programmed to generate a merchant profile from the merchant identification data for the merchant, and generate an activation code for the primary authorized user based on the merchant profile. The activation code is transmitted to the primary authorized user. The processor receives, from the primary authorized user, one or more biometrics of the authorized user, validates the biometrics of the authorized user, and upon validation of the biometrics, activates a merchant account.

  • Patent number: 10762406
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for generating a secure QR code for use in a purchase transaction. In an embodiment, a directory service computer verifies the identity of a merchant by matching an acquirer financial institution (FI)-signed certificate and a stored certificate, wherein the acquirer FI-signed certificate was received from a merchant device along with a secure QR code request. The directory service computer then establishes an encrypted and Pinned SSL tunnel with the merchant device, receives a transaction message including a transaction amount, a universal unique identifier (UUID), and a transaction identifier (ID), updates an application transaction count (ATC) associated with the merchant, and generates and stores a secure one-way Hash value, generated by using a merchant identifier (ID), the transaction amount, the ATC, the UUID, and the transaction ID.

  • Publication number: 20160048913
Abstract: Systems and methods for use in assigning bank identification numbers (BINs) are disclosed. One exemplary method includes identifying a payment account demand for an issuer. The payment account demand is associated with an anticipated number of primary account numbers (PANs) for the issuer, each PAN having a PAN length. The method further includes selecting a BIN length for the issuer based on the payment account demand where the BIN length being less than the PAN length, assigning a BIN to the issuer where the BIN has the BIN length, and appending the BIN to a BIN directory. The BIN is associated with the issuer. The BIN is different than each other BIN in the BIN directory.
