  • Patent number: 8501279
Abstract: A process for production of a flexible laminated sheet having one or more laminated bodies each provided with a metal foil formed on one side of a resin film, the process comprising a coating step in which a varnish containing a polyamic acid and a solvent is coated onto the metal foil to form a coated film, a holding step in which the coated film formed on the metal foil is held, a drying step in which at least a portion of the solvent in the varnish is removed to form a layer composed of a resin composition, and a resin film-forming step in which the layer composed of the resin composition is heated to form a resin film containing a polyimide resin. The conditions for each step from the coating step up to the resin film-forming step are adjusted based on a target for the content of metal elements in the resin film.

  • Patent number: 6017480
Abstract: A process for producing polyolefin materials is disclosed which comprises the steps of (a) preparing a molded article of an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyolefin having a viscosity-average molecular weight of more than 500,000; (b) stretching said article by more than thirty-fold; (c) contracting the thus stretched article to an extent ranging from 0.3 to 80% in the direction of stretch; and (d) re-stretching the thus contracted article. The resulting polyolefin materials are improved in mechanical strength and elasticity modulus.

  • Patent number: 5723388
Abstract: The present invention provides a prepreg obtained by stretching a material including, as a main component, an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene having an intrinsic viscosity of 5-50 dl/g as measured at 135.degree. C. in decalin, to a total draw ratio of at least 20, subjecting the resulting stretched polyethylene material to a splitting treatment, and impregnating the resulting material with a thermosetting resin. The split stretched polyethylene material has improved adhesion to the impregnant resin and can be used as a good base material for prepreg.

  • Patent number: 5702657
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the continuous production of a polyethylene material having high strength and high modulus of elasticity by rolling an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene film or film like material and then drawing the rolled material, wherein a thermoplastic resin film having incorporated therein at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a coloring agent, a weathering stabilizer, an antistatic agent, a hydrophilicity-imparting agent, an adhesion promoter and a dyeability-imparting agent is laminated to the film material in the rolling step and the resulting polyethylene material is further slit or split as required. This method makes it easy to color the polyethylene material having high strength and high modulus of elasticity and to impart weather resistance and other desirable properties thereto.

  • Patent number: 4958546
Abstract: A saw blade such as a bandsaw blade, circular saw blade, or backsaw blade has a pair of leading teeth which cut the workpiece and advance in a feed direction while the workpiece is being cut and a plurality of trailing teeth which cut the workpiece later than the leading teeth and serve to widen the leading cut channel. The leading teeth and the trailing teeth form one basic group in which the heights of the trailing teeth from a basic position on the saw blade are equal to or smaller than the height of the leading teeth. The trailing teeth are set in the right and left directions with respect to the saw blade and the leading teeth are slightly set with respect to the saw blade.

  • Patent number: 4813324
Abstract: A saw blade such as a bandsaw blade, circular saw blade, or hacksaw blade has a leading tooth or teeth which cuts the workpiece and advances in a feed direction while the workpiece is being cut and a plurality of trailing teeth which cut the workpiece later than the leading tooth or teeth and serve to widen the leading cut channel. The leading tooth and the trailing teeth form one group in which a plurality of the trailing teeth are lesser in height than the leading tooth and an additional plurality of the trailing tooth are equal in height to the leading tooth. The trailing teeth are set in the right and left directions with respect to the saw blade and the leading tooth is unset with respect to the saw blade. The lateral set of the plurality of trailing teeth having a lesser height is wider than the lateral set of the plurality of trailing teeth having the same height as the leading tooth. Embodiments are disclosed in which a second group of teeth alternate with the basic group of teeth on the saw blade.
