  • Publication number: 20200241866
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for seamless and automatic upgrade of access points in a facility with minimal disruption, particularly, for important users of a network. The access points may be ranked, and the rankings may be aggregated to identify a sub-region of the facility with the lowest ranked access points. Various sub-sets of the access points in the identified sub-region can be updated separately so that spatial coverage by the other sub-sets maintains continuous access within the sub-region during the updates. Updates to later sub-sets and/or sub-regions can be performed contingent on the success of the earlier updates. In this way, updates can be verified on access points used by lower-priority users such as guest users of the network to avoid disruption of access to more important users such as executives or safety workers on the network.

  • Publication number: 20200234441
Abstract: An imaging system includes a microscope to generate magnified images of regions of interest of a tissue sample, a camera to capture and store the magnified images, and a controller. The controller is configured to, for each magnification level in a sequence of increasing magnification levels, image one or more regions of interest of the tissue sample at the current magnification level. For each region of interest, data is generated defining one or more refined regions of interest based on the magnified image of the region of interest of the tissue sample at the current magnification level. Each refined region of interest corresponds to a proper subset of the tissue sample, and the refined regions of interest of the tissue sample provide the regions of interest to be imaged at a next magnification level from the sequence of increasing magnification levels.

  • Publication number: 20200159603
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for managing faulting network devices. A first network device can receive an error. The first network device can generate one or more frames including data indicative of the error. The first network device can broadcast the one or more frames to one or more neighboring network devices. It may be determined that the first network device is inaccessible. The first data can be retrieved and presented from a second network device among the one or more neighboring network devices. In some embodiments, a network management system can utilize the first data to generate a machine learning model that classifies whether network devices are instances of network devices designated for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. In some embodiments, the network management system can apply the first data to a machine learning classifier to determine whether to initiate the RMA process for the first network device.

  • Patent number: 10642366
Abstract: An application programming interface is provided that allows applications to request and receive distance measurements from multiple proximity sensors arranged on a computing device such as a smart phone or tablet. Users can input ranges of values to the applications by moving objects such as hands and fingers towards and away one or more of the multiple proximity sensors. Applications can use the ranges of values provided by the proximity sensors to allow for more nuanced and precise user interfaces than what is typically available using the binary output associated with a capacitive display. The values provided by the proximity sensors can be combined with values from one or more other sensors such as accelerometers to provide additional user interface options.

Abstract: A method for troubleshooting and resolving access point device uplink failures. The method includes detecting an unresponsive access point on a wired computer network. In addition, the method includes retrieving a record of peer access points to determine the peer access points for the unresponsive access point. Further, the method proceeds to sending a first request to a peer access point of the unresponsive access point to query the unresponsive access point for a response over a wireless network. In response to the query, the network management system sends a notification that the unresponsive access point has a cable malfunction if the unresponsive access point responds to the query. Furthermore, the method includes, in response to the query, sending a notification to the network management system to inform that the unresponsive access point has a power malfunction if the unresponsive access point fails to respond to the query.

  • Publication number: 20200128365
Abstract: A method and system for distributed messaging between a plurality of computer devices using a short range wireless communication protocol (SRWP) is disclosed. The communication protocol can be one in which slave devices provide data to master devices. A device automatically establishes master and slave connections with other devices via the protocol as they come into range. A user-entered message is displayed on the device and broadcast by the device over slave connections to other connected devices. Messages received by the device over its master connections are displayed and also rebroadcast to other connected devices. Messages can be displayed for a limited time period during which they fade or otherwise are altered to provide a visual indication of the display lifetime remaining for that message. A relay can be provided to receive an rebroadcast messages to connected devices and inject into the SRWP network from devices outside the network.
