  • Patent number: 9421423
Abstract: Non-circular dimples such as oval form dimples are provided on the spherical surface of a ball body. A golf ball includes a spherical land surface of the ball body and a dimple pattern of a plurality of dimples formed on the spherical land surface, the spherical surface of the ball body being divided into a plurality of spherical surface parts (land surfaces) with each polygon faces of polyhedron which is virtually inscribed in said spherical surface of ball body, by a projection method from each polygon faces of the inscribed polyhedron, on each spherical surface parts some or all of the dimples being formed as non-circular dimple having a width of more than 1.5 mm and a length of more than 2 times of the width and the dimple pattern is disposed so as to make vortices generated in the non-circular dimples flow out in at least two different directions.

  • Publication number: 20120302377
Abstract: A golf ball provided with elliptical dimples. A golf ball provided with non-circular dimples, configured by forming the dimples in the surface of a sphere or of a pseudosphere which consists of a polyhedron. The dimples have a non-circular shape which has a major axis having a length at least 1.2 times greater than that of the minor axis of the shape, are each composed of a pair of circular arcs, and have a depth which causes the peripheral edges of the dimples to generate turbulence. The configuration reduces the separation width at the separation boundary to a level less than that of a golf ball having circular dimples, and this decreases the drag. The polyhedron can be substantially composed of triangles, pentagons, or hexagons.

  • Patent number: 7713138
Abstract: A wood type club is provided. A toe-side part and a heel-side part located between the crown part and the sole part of the head are provided with at least one concave groove opened outward in a horizontal direction and extending from the face part to the back part in a longitudinal direction to guide an air stream to the head in a swing action; and a whole or part of the concave groove has a curved part bulging outwardly so that an angle in which a concave groove bottom formed from an inlet of the concave groove to an inside thereof is inclined inward with respect to a line perpendicular to the face part is smaller than an angle in which a line connecting an inlet of the concave groove bottom and an outlet thereof is inclined inward with respect to the line perpendicular to the face part.

  • Publication number: 20090017936
Abstract: The present invention improves putting performance of a golf putter by balancing a torsional moment of the putter head. Golf putter includes a weighting member (W) having a weight of 15 g or more that is positioned at a distance of 1 cm or more away from an upper face of a putter head (H) toward a shaft (S). The weighting member performs a function of shifting a center of gravity of the putter toward a heel thereof and shifting a center of impact of the shaft toward a putter grip (G). Thereby, the weighting member enables a better putting by preventing off-center hitting of a putting face of the putter and preventing off-direction moving of the putter head and grip (G) at the time of putting.

  • Patent number: 6327845
Abstract: Gas turbine combustor by-pass valve device for opening and closing a by-pass valve is improved to uniformly control air supply into a combustion area for appropriate combustion. A drive shaft 21 for opening and closing a driven by-pass valve 20 is provided in turbine casing 010 where an outside obstruction is located which would interfere with a projecting drive shaft 09. The driven shaft 21 has a short length to be provided in the turbine casing 010. An adjacent main driving shaft 23 for opening and closing main driving by-pass valve 22 is provided adjacent to the driven shaft 21. Link mechanism 26 is provided between the adjacent main driving shaft 23 and the driven shaft 21 so that rotary movement of adjacent main driving shaft 23 driven by outside drive means via the drive shaft 09 is transmitted to the driven shaft 21 and, thus, to the driven by-pass valve 20.

  • Patent number: 6315301
Abstract: Rotating machine seal device is improved so that seal plate is fitted to rotating portion firmly, thereby self-induced vibration of the seal plate is reduced and occurrence of abrasion or thinning of the seal plate due to the self-induced vibration and sealing deterioration accompanying therewith are prevented. In rotating machine seal device having seal plate (2) inserted into groove (1a) provided in disc portion (1) driven rotationally, said seal device being for sealing fluid between fluid passage (12) on outer circumferential side of said groove (1a) and fluid passage (14) on inner circumferential side of said groove (1a), said seal plate (2) is divided into plural pieces along circumferential direction thereof to be inserted into said groove (1a) of the disc portion (1) and spring plate (3) is disposed on inner circumferential side of said seal plate (2) so that said seal plate (2) is pressed against seal surface (1b) of said groove (1a) by spring force of said spring plate (3).
