Publication number: 20150230190Abstract: Power control for devices having multiple transmit antennas are disclosed, including power control methods for Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) and Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) transmissions for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The PUCCH and SRS power control methods include selecting a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) mode and changing the power of the PUCCH or SRS transmission based on the selected MIMO mode. Another power control method estimates an antenna gain imbalance (AGI) for a WTRU having at least two transmit antennas. The AGI is based on measuring a Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) on each transmit antenna. Each transmit antenna is then scaled by an AGI scaling factor based on the estimated AGI.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2015Publication date: August 13, 2015Applicant: INTERDIGITAL PATENT HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Sung-Hyuk H. Shin, Janet A. Stern-Berkowitz, Chang-Soo Koo, Mihaela C. Beluri

Publication number: 20150195797Abstract: Methods, apparatus and systems are described for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to manage its transmission power. A power headroom report (PHR) may be triggered based on changes to backoff or the impacts of backoff. Additional backoff may be used to calculate a maximum output power of the WTRU and may be indicated by a domination indicator to network resources. The WTRU may be configured to eliminate triggers caused by virtual PHRs. Furthermore, the WTRU may be configured to respond to rapid changes to backoff.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2015Publication date: July 9, 2015Applicant: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: John W. HAIM, Stephen E. Terry, Janet A. Stern-Berkowitz, Sung-Hyuk H. Shin, Virgil Comsa

Patent number: 8976806Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for providing compatible mapping for backhaul control channels, frequency first mapping of control channel elements (CCEs) to avoid relay-physical control format indicator channel (R-PCFICH) and a tree based relay resource allocation to minimize the resource allocation map bits. Methods and apparatus (e.g., relay node (RN)/evolved Node-B (eNB)) for mapping of the Un downlink (DL) control signals, Un DL positive acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) and/or relay-physical downlink control channel (R-PDCCH) (or similar) in the eNB to RN (Un interface) DL direction are described. This includes time/frequency mapping of above-mentioned control signals into resource blocks (RBs) of multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS) single frequency network (MBSFN)-reserved sub-frames in the RN cell and encoding procedures for these.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2010Date of Patent: March 10, 2015Assignee: Interdigital Technology CorporationInventors: Kalpendu R. Publication number: 20150036645Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for downlink resource allocation associated with a shared frequency band. A WTRU may receive resource allocation information associated with a component carrier and at least one carrier segment. The component carrier and the least one carrier segment may each comprise a plurality of resource block groups (RBG). At least two bitmaps may be associated with the resource allocation information. A size of a resource block group (RBG) of the component carrier and the at least one carrier segment may be based on a combined number of resource blocks (RB) of the component carrier and the one or more carrier segments divided by a 3GPP Rel-8/Rel-10 RBG size of the component carrier. The WTRU may determine at least one RBG allocated to the WTRU using the resource allocation information and may receive and decode the at least one RBG allocated to the WTRU.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2014Publication date: February 5, 2015Applicant: INTERDIGITAL PATENT HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Sung-Hyuk H. Shin, Changsoo Koo, Ghyslain Pelletier, Janet A. Stern-Berkowitz, Marian Rudolf, Nobuyuki Tamaki, Allan Y. Tsai, Pouriya Sadeghi

Publication number: 20120113831Abstract: Embodiments contemplate methods and devices that may select uplink (UL) transmission resources for transmitting uplink control information (UCI). A determination may be made that UCI should be transmitted. A physical channel resource for transmission of the UCI may be selected and a wireless transmit/receive unit (WRTU) may transmit the UCI over a physical uplink channel capable of supporting multiple component carriers using the selected physical channel resource. The selection of the physical channel resource may include at least one of: selecting a pre-determined UL component carrier (CC) for uplink transmission on a physical uplink control shared channel (PUSCH) upon a PUSCH resource being available in a subframe, or, selecting a pre-determined UL CC for uplink transmission on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) capable of UCI transmission in the subframe upon a PUSCH resource not being available in the subframe.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2011Publication date: May 10, 2012Applicant: INTERDIGITAL PATENT HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Ghyslain Pelletier, Paul Marinier, Shahrokh Nayeb Nazar, Marian Rudolf, Robert L.
