The system includes a decoupling transformer for decoupling a power line carrier (PLC) signal into a power signal and a communication signal; a filter for removing an excess signal from the communication signal; and a computing device for: generating the display of utility data, and sending a display of utility data signal to the monitor.

Abstract: Systems and solutions for monitoring an electrical device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a monitoring system for an electrical device includes: a utility meter communicatively connected to the electrical device; and at least one computing device disposed within the utility meter, the at least one computing device adapted to monitor the electrical device by performing actions comprising: obtaining operational data about the electrical device; comparing the operational data about the electrical device with predefined operational criteria for the electrical device; determining a health status for the electrical device based upon the comparison of the operational data about the electrical device and the predefined operational criteria for the electrical device; and providing to the utility meter a health status indicator, the health status indicator including an operational status of the electrical device.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for providing security services utilizing a smart utility meter are provided. A utility meter may include at least one local network interface, at least one transceiver, and at least one processor. The at least one local network interface may be configured to receive security monitoring data from one or more security devices. The at least one transceiver may be configured to communicate, to at least one of a user device or a security monitoring center via a wide area network, one or more messages associated with the received security monitoring data. The at least one processor may be configured to generate, based at least in part upon the received security monitoring data, the one or more messages and direct the at least one transceiver to output the one or more messages.
