  • Publication number: 20220233730
Abstract: An electronic device with a camera uses UV light to sanitize objects such as surfaces or hands. An object is identified by the electronic and placed at an optimal distance from the electronic device. At least part of the object is exposed to UV light emitted from the electronic device for a sufficient duration to achieve disinfection. In some implementations, instructions are delivered to a user associated with the electronic device to position the object so that a remainder of the object is exposed to UV light for disinfection. The electronic device may be moved relative to the object to continue disinfection. In some implementations, an indication is provided of the status of disinfecting the object.

  • Patent number: 10660109
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for supporting multiple configurations of reference signals for OTDOA positioning in a wireless network. In an aspect, a UE sends to a location server, a message indicating reference signal characteristics supported by the UE, where the reference signal characteristics include a UE supported reference signal bandwidth. The UE then receives from the location server, positioning assistance data including reference signal configuration parameters for each cell of a plurality of cells transmitting reference signals according to the UE supported reference signal bandwidth. The UE may then perform positioning measurements for one or more of the plurality of cells transmitting the reference signals based on the reference signal configuration parameters for each cell of the plurality of cells.

  • Patent number: 10645647
Abstract: Disclosed aspects and embodiments pertain to conserving power usage during an Observed Time Difference of Arrival (OTDOA) measurement session. For example, a server or other network entity may receive information related to a Discontinuous Reception (DRx) or Connected Mode DRx (CDRx) configuration associated with a user equipment (UE) and provide, to the UE, information related to one or more base stations having Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) occasions that coincide with an OFF state associated with the DRx/CDRx configuration. Alternatively and/or additionally, the UE may receive OTDOA assistance information indicating when certain PRS occasions occur and a serving base station or other network entity may provide the UE with a DRx/CDRx configuration having an OFF state that coincides with the PRS occasions. As such, the DRx/CDRx parameters may be exploited to substantially reduce or eliminate measurement gaps and conserve power usage during an OTDOA session.

  • Patent number: 10542518
Abstract: Measurements from a plurality of Access Points (APs) may be used to determine that at least one AP in the plurality is mobile. Measurements from APs determined to be mobile may be excluded when determining a User Equipment (UE) location. Disclosed embodiments also pertain to AP mobility characterization. AP mobility may be determined based on range rate measurements such as Round Trip Time measurements between the AP and UE; or a Doppler frequency shift relative to a nominal frequency used by the AP for transmissions. Based on range rate measurements, a probability of mobility may be assigned to APs. Information pertaining to APs that are determined to be stationary or associated with a low probability of mobility may be reported to a location server. Information pertaining to APs determined to be mobile or associated with a higher probability of mobility may not be reported to a location server.

  • Publication number: 20190208464
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for performing an enhanced network scan. In one aspect, during a network scan of a first frequency band, a station (STA) may provide a probe request to an access point (AP) of a communication network via the first frequency band. The probe request may indicate the STA supports communications in both the first frequency band and a second frequency band. Based on a probe response received from the AP, the STA may determine whether the AP supports communications in both the first frequency band and the second frequency band. The STA may determine to terminate the network scan without scanning the second frequency band in response to determining that the AP supports communications in both the first frequency band and the second frequency band.

  • Publication number: 20190053124
Abstract: A wireless access point enables or rejects a wireless connection request from a mobile device based on a round trip time (RTT) measurement and an angle of arrival (AoA) measurement for signals from the mobile device. After receiving a wireless connection request from the mobile device, the wireless access point obtains the RTT and the AoA measurements for the mobile device. The wireless access point determines if the RTT and the AoA measurements for the mobile device are within predefined RTT and AoA ranges that define a physical boundary with respect to the wireless access point. The wireless connection is accepted if the RTT and AOA measurements are within the predefined RTT and AoA ranges and are otherwise rejected. If desired, a plurality of physical boundaries may be used, each with different predefined RTT and AoA ranges, and each physical boundary may have a different predefined time limit range.
