  • Patent number: 8725603
Abstract: A method and system are provided for helping a user configure her paycheck deductions and disbursements. Paycheck information is retrieved (e.g., from an aggregator, from benefits providers, from the user) and a tool is activated to present an electronic paycheck summary to the user. A tax engine is invoked to determine whether her net pay can be increased by reducing the amount of pay withheld for taxes. The user is then invited to change any or all of the benefit deductions taken from her pay. For example, she may be invited to select from a number of insurance plans (e.g., medical, dental, life insurance), select a level of contribution to a retirement account, open an investment account, and so on. Action to implement some or all of the user's selected deductions may then be initiated electronically. Alternatively, she may be presented with a checklist of actions she needs to take.

  • Patent number: 8612317
Abstract: Visually presenting spending behavior, spending patterns, and spending activity to a consumer across of their all receipt based purchase transactions. Receipt data is received at a first or host computer from respective transaction processing devices or host systems of respective merchants, or received from self-service action of the consumer, and identifies respective goods or services purchased by the consumer. A user interface is displayed to the consumer and comprises a thumbnail arrangement of discrete objects, each of which represents respective receipts generated by respective transaction or transaction processing devices. A discrete object may comprise data of one or multiple goods or services and includes category indicators that visually inform the consumer about the type of good or service. Embodiments may also involve requesting receipt data utilizing a mobile communication device, searching receipt data collected by the computer and responding to the request with requested receipt data.

  • Publication number: 20060233346
Abstract: A member of a workforce of a contact center, such as an agent of a call center, can receive performance interventions, such as training, information, tips, or other items intended to enhance workplace performance. The performance interventions can be organized, sequenced, ranked, or prioritized in a lineup, an ordered list, or a queue, that specifies the sequence that the workforce member should receive the performance interventions. The agent might select a training course at the top of the list, for example. Two criteria, parameters, or values can characterize some aspect of each performance intervention. One criterion might characterize time sensitivity, while the other criterion might characterize importance, for example. Processing the two parameters can determine the sequence of performance intervention delivery.

  • Patent number: 6146413
Abstract: A device which is shaped like a mitt or a glove with separate sheaths for the thumb and fingers. The mitt or glove has surfaces for covering the palm and back of the human hand. Each of the palm and back surfaces is formed as a plenum which is filled with a heat exchange material. The heat exchange material is selected to provide cooling over a reasonably extended period of time, at an appropriate therapeutic temperature. The heat exchange material is preferably a phase change material such as a paraffinic phase change material having a phase change temperature on the order of 50 degrees F. However, other temperatures and materials are contemplated. The mitt or glove is made of a flexible plastic sheet material such as a tripolymer material or polypropylene. The mitt or glove is formed of four die cut sheets of the plastic sheet material which are shaped in the pattern of the outline of a human hand and forearm. The patterned sheets are stacked together and heat sealed together along their periphery.
