  • Publication number: 20090286745
Abstract: This invention relates to the inhibition of alpha-synuclein aggregation using peptidyl compounds which are retroenantiomers of the alpha-synuclein sequence, in particular retroenantiomers of sequences in the regions between residues 1 to 60 or residues 61 to 96. Peptidyl compounds of the invention may optionally be coupled to doperminergic targeting moieties and/or blood brain barrier transport moieties and may be useful in the treatment of alpha-synucleinopathies such as Parkinson's disease.

  • Publication number: 20050233462
Abstract: A matched set of fluorescent dyes is provided, wherein each dye of the set is capable of covalent attachment to a protein and wherein each of the dyes has a molecular structure and a charge that is matched one with the other, such that relative electrophoretic mobility of a protein labelled with one dye of the set is the same as the electrophoretic mobility of the protein labelled with a different dye of the set. The matched set comprises at least two different fluorescent dyes of formula: wherein n is 1, 2, or 3; Z1 and Z2 independently represent the carbon atoms necessary to complete a phenyl or naphthyl ring system; one of groups R1 and R2 is a target bonding group; remaining group R1 or R2 is selected from —(CH2)4—W or —(CH2)r—H; group R3 is hydrogen, except when either R1 or R2 is —(CH2)r—H, in which case R3 is W; and W is selected from sulphonic acid and sulphonate.

  • Patent number: 5243725
Abstract: The comforters of the invention comprise fabrics filled with down or synthetic material. In one embodiment of the invention, intended for winter use, the comforters are stitched diagonally across, between its four opposing corners, and are also diagonally stitched between the midpoints of its adjacent edges, thereby providing 4-large diamond-shaped sections and producing five connecting interstices. In a second embodiment, intended for spring and summer use, the comforters are additionally stitched from one edge to its opposing edge, to intersect the five connecting interstices, thereby dividing the 4-diamond-shaped sections in half. In a third embodiment, intended for summer use, the comforters are further stitched between its remaining two edges, also to intersect the five connecting interstices, and dividing the original diamond-shaped sections in half once again.
