A MULTI-COMPARTMENT DEVICE CONTAINING HUMAN THREE-DIMENSIONAL (3D) MICROTISSUES FOR TOXICITY TESTING
Publication number: 20220081659Abstract: This dual-compartment liver co-culture system exposes target microtissue to metabolites, allowing for evaluating toxicity using a standard multi-well plate for high throughput analysis. Discovery scientists can rapidly select lead compounds with desirable metabolic profiles, while safety scientists can determine the safety of drugs, pesticides, and environmental chemicals. This platform is allometrically scalable, so it can mimic the natural size differences between healthy organs and, with the liver, produce sufficient quantities of metabolites. The device is simple to use and designed for immediate in vitro pathology assessment using confocal microscopy, transcriptomics, and proteomics.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2020Publication date: March 17, 2022Inventors: Kim BOEKELHEIDE, Jeffrey MORGAN, Susan HALL, Hui LI, Blanche IP -
Patent number: 8589388Abstract: A request to access a web page may be received from a user device. The web page includes a dynamic information portion and a static information portion. A filename is assigned to a static file that is associated with the static information portion of the web page. The filename may be formed at least in part from a timestamp associated with the static file. In response to the request, a dynamic file that is associated with the dynamic information portion of the web page may be sent to the user device. The dynamic file references the static file using the filename, and the timestamp included in the filename enables the user device to determine whether the static information portion of the web page is accessible at the user device.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2011Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Duane E. Tiemann, Susan A. Hall

Publication number: 20130024362Abstract: A data processing system processes coded data having data fields representing a financial transaction involving currency conversion. A database contains data relating to beneficiaries of financial transactions and other criteria. A communications interface interfaces with a secure financial communications system. The data processing arrangement analyses the data fields of coded data received from the communications system, and identifies from the fields and data in the database whether or not the transaction complies with the said criteria thereby indicating whether the transaction is a candidate for currency conversion. If currency conversion is carried out data fields relating to the currency and value of the currency are changed. Data in data fields relating to the addressing of the coded data is changed to indicate the address of another data processing system. The coded data is transmitted via the secure communications system to the other data processing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2009Publication date: January 24, 2013Inventors: Maarten Lossie, Joerg Pinkernell, Keith Tayler, Susan Hall

Publication number: 20100310732Abstract: A pliable, sealed package made from one or more flexible films is used to store an uncooked dough product, with the dough product proofing within the sealed package so as to establish and maintain a greater than ambient pressure within the sealed package. In accordance with an aspect of the invention, the overall package is produced utilizing a horizontal form, fill and seal system. The sealed package can be shrunk and/or wrapped to also provide an external force which is essentially transferred to static pressure with the package.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2009Publication date: December 9, 2010Inventors: David J. Domingues, David A. Kirk, Scott Kackman, Susan Hall

Publication number: 20100307948Abstract: A product package includes a product receiving cavity formed from a first, heat shrinkable film and a second, non-heat shrinkable film sealed to the first, heat shrinkable film. The second film can be provided with indicia which remains intact following completion of the product packaging. In accordance with a method aspect of the invention, the package is produced utilizing a form, fill and seal system. In one embodiment, a soft, deformable refrigerated dough is packaged.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2009Publication date: December 9, 2010Inventors: David J. Domingues, David A. Patent number: 7171443Abstract: A method, system and software for efficient transmission of information having dynamic information and static information are disclosed herein. A networked system having a remote site, a user, and a network is used to transmit information between the remote site and the user. The user sends a request for a set of information having dynamic information and static information, such as a hypertext markup language (HTML) file associated with a uniform resource locator (URL), to the remote site. The remote site, responding to the user's request, determines one or more dynamic portions and/or one or more static portions of the set of information. In one embodiment, a template representative of the set of information is used to aid in the determination of dynamic and static portions. The remote site transmits the one or more dynamic portions to the user, as well as instructions or references for accessing the one or more static portions from a location or file local to the user.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2001Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: Prodigy Communications, LPInventors: Duane E. Tiemann, Susan A. Hall

Patent number: 5826023Abstract: AS/400 POP3/MIME clients that are making use of the POP3 server support move mail through a SNADS network to other POP3 clients. The messages sent between these clients make use of an existing SNADS network without having to resort to converting or mapping or breaking apart an ASCII SMTP/MIME text message to an equivalent OfficeVision/400 format. Likewise, non-text SMTP/MIME messages or attachments sent this way do not need to be mapped to OfficeVision/400 PC file objects. This is accomplished by encapsulating the SMTP/MIME message in an AS/400 Object Distribution as a specific database object. Once encapsulated, the SMTP/MIME message is an object distribution message as far as any reference to that message made by any SNADS function anywhere in the SNADS network.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1996Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Mary Susan Hall, George James Romano
