  • Patent number: 9970615
Abstract: A system for light-based vehicle-device communication includes a computer programmed to generate a first light pattern based on a received identifier, actuate a vehicle light according to the first light pattern, and then identify, from received image data, a second light pattern emitted from outside of the vehicle. The system may further include a mobile computing device programmed to generate the second light pattern based on a received vehicle identifier, and actuate a mobile device light according to the second light pattern. The mobile computing device may be programmed to identify, from received image data, the first light pattern.

  • Patent number: 9569745
Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed towards dynamically adding new pickup orders to an existing route structure. In at least some embodiments, a service provider separates a number of vendors into separate clusters based on one or more attributes. For example, the vendors may be separated by geographic region. The service provider may then identify a set of routes that are associated with each of the vendor clusters and run optimization techniques on that set of routes. The set of routes may be filtered based on attributes of the route. In some embodiments, the service provider may make a route alteration that accommodates the new pickup order.

  • Patent number: 9173157
Abstract: A method and a wireless system. The system including a cluster of wireless stations (STAs), an access point (AP), and at least one cluster lead configured to send and receive data from the STAs and the AP and to retransmit the received data to other cluster leads, or to the AP, or both. The at least one cluster lead includes an STA designated by the AP from the cluster of STAs based at least partially on channel coherence time.

  • Patent number: 8954261
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle positioning system for determining a position of a remote vehicle relative to a mobile host vehicle based on safety alert messages broadcast from the remote vehicle relating to an event in a road of travel. A host vehicle communication unit communicates with the remote vehicle for receiving the broadcast messages from the remote vehicle. A host vehicle control unit identifies reference points along the road of travel. Each reference point identifies a position of the host vehicle and associated signal reception properties, for example time-of-arrival, angle-of-arrival and received signal strength when the host vehicle receives the broadcast message. The control unit of the host vehicle selects a set of the reference points having identified positions and associated times, angles and signal strength.

  • Patent number: 8570221
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for localization positioning in lighting systems. At least two of a Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA), Angle of Arrival (AOA), Received Signal Strength Index (RSSI) and a Position Estimation Algorithm with unified TDOA and RSSI are used to obtain localization positioning. The schemes introduce a maximum-likelihood estimation strategy incorporating a partial derivative matrix for each lighting unit using at least two reference nodes in order to achieve higher accuracy.
