  • Patent number: 10803684
Abstract: Aircraft systems and methods are provided for capturing user inputs during operation. An aircraft system includes a user interface and a flight data recorder coupled to the user interface. The user interface includes a user input device to receive a user input and a control module coupled to the user input device to capture data associated with the user input and output the data. The flight data recorder receives the data associated with the user input and stores the data associated with the user input device in a time ordered sequence.

  • Publication number: 20200118447
Abstract: Avionic information systems are disclosed herein. The avionic information system includes a flight management system for providing a current designated waypoint. The avionic information system also includes a navigation database storing waypoint location information and airway location information and a display module. The avionic information system also includes a processor module operably connected to the flight management system, the navigation database and the display. The processor is configured to determine, from the stored waypoint location information and the stored airway location information, one or more airways that are connected to the current designated waypoint and to cause the display module to graphically represent the current designated waypoint and only the determined one or more airways that are connected to the current designated waypoint and not other nearby airways. Methods of using such systems are also disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 10486825
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing a center of gravity of a vehicle on a display associated with the vehicle are provided. The method includes: determining an initial value of a center of gravity prior to a start of a journey, and receiving a value for a consumption of a fuel for the journey; determining, by a processor, a change in the center of gravity at each waypoint based on the initial value and the fuel consumed; generating a first user interface that illustrates the center of gravity at the waypoints over the journey and that illustrates that the change in the center of gravity exceeds a predefined threshold; based on the change in the center of gravity exceeding the predefined threshold, generating, a second user interface that provides a selection to bring the center of gravity below the predefined threshold; and updating the first user interface based on the selection.

  • Patent number: 10204430
Abstract: An aircraft system includes a communications unit configured to receive a first message with a first proposed flight plan modification to a flight plan from air traffic control. The system further includes a processing unit coupled to the communications unit and configured to receive the first message. The processing unit is further configured to generate display commands representing the first proposed flight plan modification and the flight plan. The system further includes a display device coupled to the processing unit and configured to receive the display commands and display the flight plan and first symbology representing the first proposed flight plan modification with the flight plan.
