  • Patent number: 3991894
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically feeding yarn cops to a cop supply device providing yarn cops to an automatic winder in sequence with the heads and tails of the individual cops properly positioned. The cop supply device has a cop sequencing device receiving cops thereon randomly and discharging them one-by-one in sequence. The cops are conveyed from the cop sequencing device and may be sorted and stored automatically in groups according to characteristics of yarn thereon. The automatic winder controls the cop sequencing device output depending upon its own demands and the cops are transported by means controlled by the winder for routing to the winder and are arranged by means automatically as to the relative positions of the heads and tails thereof in a desired relative position.
