Patent number: 4638372Abstract: A copier capable of producing both color images and monochrome images is disclosed, which comprises a platen for mounting thereon a manuscript, a scanner unit adapted to reciprocate relative to the platen and generate image signals divided in three primary colors by reading the manuscript for each line or for each set of a plurality of lines, four thermal heads for receiving image signals and, in response thereto, selectively actuating heat generation elements, means for supplying the thermal heads with ink donor films of four colors including black, and means for effecting thermal transfer printing on record paper.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1984Date of Patent: January 20, 1987Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventors: Svay Leng, Hiroyuki Saitoh, Toshiharu Inui, Norihiko Koizumi, Haruhiko Moriguchi, Takashi Omori, Masami Kurata, Yasuo Katoh

Patent number: 4597660Abstract: A high speed copying machine transports a sheet from a sheet stack to a stop gate at very high speed, and then transports the sheet from the stop gate to a transfer point on the drum at a speed matching the peripheral speed of the drum. The time required to rotate a point on the drum from the exposure position to the transfer point is actually greater than the time required to transport a sheet from the sheet stack to the stop gate, which is very near the transfer point.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 1982Date of Patent: July 1, 1986Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventors: Svay Leng, Saburo Suganuma, Hiroyuki Kataoka

Patent number: 4568817Abstract: In a thermal printing utilizing a heat sensitive printing paper or an ink donor film, sticking of a heat sensitive color developing layer on the printing paper or a substrate film of the ink donor film to a thermal head is prevented by supplying a predetermined amount of electric energy to heat generating elements of the thermal head during time intervals between successive printing heat generations in the heat generating elements. For this purpose, warming pulses generated from a warming pulse generating circuit are applied during the time intervals to the heat generating elements for warming the same.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1984Date of Patent: February 4, 1986Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co. Ltd.Inventors: Svay Leng, Toshiharu Inui, Haruhiko Moriguchi

Patent number: 4531133Abstract: According to the present invention, appearance of a white space line produced on record can be prevented, and such white space line is produced due to excessive travel of a recording paper in the case when recording information to be inputted is interrupted. In the present invention, for the sake of attaining such advantageous effect as mentioned above, either additional recording for 1 line is carried out on the basis of the recording information of the last recording, or additional recording for 1 line is effected on the basis of the recording information of the last recording or the recording information which was newly received during a period after the following recording information was received and before the recording paper starts travel thereof for recording in the case when a period of time from the last recording for 1 line to reception of the following recording information exceeds an expected value.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1983Date of Patent: July 23, 1985Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventor: Svay Leng

Patent number: 4479615Abstract: A roll sheet supplying mechanism for a recording device is disclosed. The mechanism allows for a roll sheet to be rolled into a recording device in a simple and convenient manner. The mechanism is comprised of a shaft having tapered end. The shaft supports the roll sheet and is positioned such that one end can be inserted within a fixed receiving portion while another end can be received within a movable receiving portion. A roll sheet is positioned on the shaft and the shaft is positioned on a support member such that the ends of the shaft are in alignment with the fixed end portion and the movable end portion. The movable end portion is retracted and may be locked into an open retracted position. The movable end portion is then released and is forced towards a shaft end by a biasing member.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1982Date of Patent: October 30, 1984Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hisao Nakajima, Svay Leng
