Abstract: Briefly, the above and further objects of the present invention are realized by providing a portable wireless communication unit having an electronic communication device with an integrally formed U-shaped frame housing mounted externally thereto. A power pack for supplying electrically power to the communication device, is adapted to be mounted removably latchably within the frame housing. The power pack includes an apparel clip mounted externally to one of the power pack faces for enabling the communication unit to be supported from the wearing apparel of a user. A resilient spring finger disposed on the power pack is latchably received within a groove disposed in the frame housing, to retain releasably, the power pack in a confronting relationship within the frame. An integrally formed flange forming part of the power pack, cooperates with an elongated slit-like groove in the frame housing to facilitate the proper alignment of the power pack when received within the frame housing.

Abstract: A fastener includes a base plate for permitting the portable equipment to be supported from the apparel of a user. An apparel clip is mounted pivotally to the base plate for moving between open and closed position for securing removably the apparel of the user to the portable equipment. In one form of the invention, the apparel clip is biased by a spring to a closed position in order to permit the portable equipment to be attached to the waistband of the user. In another form of the invention, the apparel clip is locked to the portable equipment so the wearing apparel captured by the apparel clip is incapable of being released from the clip except by the direct action of the user.

Abstract: A tactile matrix switch has a planar electrically conductive layer dielectrically spaced between contacts of individual switch elements and an actuating mechanism such as a finger on the body of a human being who may carry an electrostatic charge. Some switch contacts are electrically connected through external circuitry to ground. The conductive layer is also electrically connected to ground. When a human operator carrying an electrostatic charge brings his finger near the face of the matrix switch for applying a tactile force to actuate an individual switch element, the conductive layer electrically conducts the electrostatic charge to ground and away from the switch contacts for protecting the electrical circuitry connected to the latter. In one embodiment, the conductive layer is electrically conductive printer's ink, having a resistivity of less than 50 k ohms per square, that is silk screened onto the back of a face plate of the matrix switch.

Abstract: A mount for a circuit breaker for mounting the circuit breaker in a holder of the type typically used for fuses and a method of making the mount is disclosed. Engaging means such as metallic screw threads or a bayonet ferrule are bonded to the envelope of the circuit breaker with one of the circuit breaker leads attached thereto. The other circuit breaker lead is attached to an eyelet. A spacer is molded between the base of the circuit breaker and the eyelet to hold the eyelet in a fixed position relative to the circuit breaker so that when the screw threads or bayonet ferrule is engaged with a holder, the eyelet contacts a contact in the base of the holder.

Abstract: An equipment housing for a communication system such as a community antenna television system wherein signals are coupled via a coaxial cable is shown. The coaxial cable can be attached to alternative ports of the equipment housing. A connector with first and second intersecting bores is retained in the housing in a position to receive the center conductor of the coaxial cable through either of the first and second ports. A threaded set-screw inserted in a third bore of the connector secures the center conductor in either of the first and second bores. A third port in the equipment housing provides access to the set-screw.
