  • Publication number: 20070224096
Abstract: Process for the production of a powdered spherical tungstic acid by acidification of an aqueous alkaline tungstate solution with mineral acid at elevated temperature, preferably in a continuous stirred tank or a cascade of at least 2 continuous stirred tanks, and tungstic acid obtainable in this way, which is characterised by a high bulk density and spherical morphology.

  • Publication number: 20060089257
Abstract: The present invention relates to a particulate mixed metal hydroxide that includes nickel, cobalt and aluminium. The powder particles have a core of nickel/cobalt hydroxide, and a surface that is coated with amorphous aluminium hydroxide. A process for the continuous preparation of such mixed metal hydroxides is also described. The process includes precipitating aluminium hydroxide in the presence of a nickel/cobalt mixed hydroxide in a tube reactor. The mixed metal hydroxides of the present invention may be used to prepare active materials for positive electrodes of a secondary battery.

  • Patent number: 6958139
Abstract: A mixed metal hydroxide with brucite structure is described, which contains nickel hydroxide as its main component and at least one trivalent metal selected from the group consisting of Co, Fe, Al, Ga, In, Sc, Y and La in an amount of from about 12 to about 30 atom % relative to the sum of the metal components including Ni. The invention also relates to a rechargeable battery containing a mixed metal hydroxide according to the invention as an electrochemically active material as well as a secondary batter containing the mixed metal hydroxide. The invention also relates to a process for producing a mixed metal hydroxide having a brucite structure.

  • Publication number: 20040265217
Abstract: A process for preparing nickel hydroxide by alkaline precipitation from nickel salt solutions in the presence of complexing agents, in which the precipitation is carried out at at least two different locations in the same mother liquor with different precipitation kinetics at the different locations and the mother liquor is mixed prior to agglomeration of the precipitated primary crystals, is described.
