Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining in a person's exhalation air the concentration of a specific substance in the blood by measuring the concentration of the substance and the concentration of water vapor in the exhalation air and utilizing a known relationship between these concentrations. When the method is applied, the exhalation air is exhaled freely in a defined air volume having a predetermined composition, and the concentrations are measured in this air volume. The apparatus for working the method comprises a device which defines a space for receiving the exhalation air, which has two mutually opposite openings through which the space communicates with the surrounding air, and means for selective quantitative detection of the substance in the air in the defined space.

Abstract: A device for analysis and filtration of sound which comprises at least one frequency-linear filter, at least one frequency-logarithmic filter and a weighting means for the combining and non-linear weighting of the output signals from the frequency-linear filter and the frequency-logarithmic filter. The sound is fed parallel as an input signal to the two sets of filters. In turn, the output signals from the filters are fed to the weighting means where they are combined and weighted non-linearly on the basis of magnitudes relevant to the sound. A decision with respect to the identity of the sound is made in a decision means. The invention also relates to a method for analyzing and filtering sound with the aid of the above-mentioned device.

According to the invention, the apparatus comprises a number of successive stations of treatment, consisting of (a) holding means (8) for holding the squid during trimming; (b) a cutter (37) for cutting the tentacles of the squid; (c) means for loosening (41) and gripping (43) of the head and viscera of the squid and extraction of these; (d) means (46) for removing part of the tissue from the inside of the mantle of the squid at the part where the pen is located; (e) means (54) for gripping and extracting the pen; and optionally (f) means (58) for removal of the squid from the holder (8); and (g) means (1) for transport of the squid between the treatment stations.
