  • Publication number: 20100113159
Abstract: A method and system for hosting an online virtual world system on game engine servers, is provided. One implementation involves obtaining a map representing a virtual world in the game, partitioning the map into multiple partitions, and selecting a game engine server for each partition as responsible for executing the game for detected game entities in that partition, wherein the selection is based on load balancing between the game engine servers.

  • Publication number: 20100113158
Abstract: A method and apparatus for hosting a virtual world system including clients and game engine servers, is provided. One implementation involves providing a publication and subscription framework, interfacing the clients with the framework using a plurality of client proxies, interfacing each game engine server with the framework using a game engine agent, and decoupling the proxies from the game engine servers using the framework.

  • Patent number: 5535286
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting errors in frames of seismic data that can be presented as images, such images being expected to exhibit an inherent symmetry about an axis, the apparatus comprising: a storage device for storing a frame of seismic data which can be presented as an image; a selection device for selecting an axis within the image as the axis of symmetry; a divider for dividing the data about the axis of symmetry to create first and second sets of data; and a comparison means for comparing the sets of data according to preselected matching criteria to determine, based on the degree of matching, whether the extent of mismatch in the frame of data is within a predetermined tolerance.

  • Patent number: 5268813
Abstract: A circuit package is disclosed including a flexible printed circuit (10) which overlies, and follows the contour of, a carrier (50) having a substantially zig-zag shaped surface. The flexible printed circuit of this circuit package is in the form of a tape having a periodic, modular wiring pattern extending along the length of the tape, with connection lands provided between adjacent wiring modules. The circuit package also includes a plug for maintaining the flexible printed circuit in place on the carrier. Circuit components (20) mounted on the flexible printed circuit abut planar portions of the zig-zag shaped surface of the carrier (50).
