Abstract: A knee brace comprises a medial hinge device and a lateral hinge device each including an upper arm configured to be attached to a thigh, and a lower arm configured to be attached to a shank. An assembly joins free ends of the upper arm and of the lower arm in each of the medial hinge device and the lateral hinge device, the assembly of each of the medial hinge device and the lateral hinge device including an operative set of pivot and pivot slot, and another operative set of follower and at least one follower slot. The assemblies of the medial hinge device and a lateral hinge are configured to induce a corrective constraint on leg movement. A system for generating a knee brace customized to a patient is also provided.

Abstract: A biomechanical analysis and validation system and method suitable for clinical diagnosis while providing accurate measurements of the angles of lower body segments and joints (i.e. without undue drift error and gravity vector estimation error). The system and method use inertial sensors configured to be positioned at the pelvis, the right and left thigh, the right and left shank and the right and left foot, and, optionally plantar pressure sensors to be positioned under the right and left foot of a subject. Biomechanical information of the subject is provided by expressing the orientation of the inertial sensors with respect to the orientation of the lower body segments of the subject.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for integrating management agents and EM frameworks is provided. For a representative embodiment, the present invention includes an open enterprise management gateway or OEM gateway. The OEM gateway is a software process that functions as an intermediary between one or more management agents and one or more EM frameworks. The OEM gateway includes a set of APIs that allow management agents to export object hierarchies to EM frameworks. The EM frameworks create interactive displays using the exported object hierarchies. The interactive displays allow users to invoke command interfaces for the displayed objects. When command interfaces are invoked, the EM frameworks invoke a callback request API within the OEM server. The OEM server then directs callback processing to an API exported by the appropriate management agent.
