  • Publication number: 20240115403
Abstract: A prosthetic knee can include a variable-torque magnetorheological (MR) actuator assembly or braking system, a frame and an electronics assembly or system that also serves as a mount for the knee actuator and facilitates in monitoring and controlling the operation of the knee actuator. The prosthetic knee system advantageously provides resistive forces to substantially simulate the position and motion of a natural knee joint during ambulation and/or other locomotory activities performed by the amputee. The prosthetic knee can be enclosed in a waterproof compartment. An outer cover can be configured to fit around the waterproof cover of the prosthetic knee.

  • Patent number: 7905501
Abstract: A blade insert assembly and frame therefor for a blading boot are securable on a base of the frame to a sole of the blading boot for ice-skating. The blade insert assembly accommodates two blade elements in tandem, each blade element being secured via an insert adjustment mechanism and a mounting pin to the frame.

  • Patent number: 7318591
Abstract: A runner assembly housing a blade for an ice skateboard and rotatably connected to a truck assembly mounted to a bottom board surface thereof has an elastic biasing cord connecting a an elongate body housing a blade to the truck assembly or the skateboard for biasing the body towards a neutral position in which the blade is substantially parallel to the bottom board surface of the ice skateboard and faces away therefrom. The runner assembly has through openings defining body channels on opposing body ends of the body and through which the biasing cord extends when connected to the body ends, the biasing cord having protrusions for holding the biasing cord in the body channels. The biasing cords are releasably snappably connectable to the body ends by snappingly introducing the biasing cord into the body channels through open neck sections extending into the body channels.

  • Publication number: 20050212226
Abstract: A runner assembly housing a blade for an ice skateboard and rotatably connected to a truck assembly mounted to a bottom board surface thereof has biasing means connected, such as an elastic cord, for biasing the runner assembly towards a neutral position in which blade is substantially parallel to the bottom board surface of ice skateboard and faces away therefrom. Runner assembly has connecting means on body ends of a body thereof and to which body connection means protrusions, such as connecting knots in elastic cords, may be attached. Body also provides runner surfaces upon which body may slide when body ends of body are moved away from board and is shaped to reduce wear on biasing means. Biasing means is further removably connectable to skateboard connecting means disposed on board of skateboard or on truck assembly.

  • Patent number: 6311990
Abstract: In the present invention, there is provided an ice skateboard comprising a bottom surface and trucks and axles mounted to the bottom surface. A set of runners is pivotally mounted to the axles. Each of the runners has a solid body, a bearing assembly, a metal blade mounted to the solid body and a centre of gravity between the bearing assembly and the metal blade. The maximum radial dimension of the runner about the bearing assembly is shorter than the distance of the axle from the bottom surface of the skateboard such that each runner is free to rotate about one of the axles to recede against the board. In another aspect, the metal blade of each runner is mounted in a slot and a cushion strip is mounted between the metal blade and the bottom surface of the slot for absorbing a vertical movement of the blade.
