    Abstract: A method of inhibiting an ethylene response in a plant is disclosed herein. Derivatives of DACP given by Formula (I) below may also be employed: ##STR1## wherein: n is from 1 to 4; andR is selected from the group consisting of halogen, hydroxy, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, carboxy, and amino. DACP is preferred.Also disclosed are methods of inhibiting abscission in plants and methods of prolonging the life of cut flowers.
