  • Patent number: 6015953
Abstract: An end of a conductor having a stranded conductor layer wound around a tension member made of resin-reinforced carbon fiber is cut back to expose the end of the tension member. The exposed end of the tension member is inserted into a metal fitting having multiple longitudinal slits. A metal sleeve is then fit over the metal fitting and also partially over the stranded conductor layer before compress-fitted into place. Accordingly, it is possible to attach, with good workability and sufficient tensile strength, a conductor that has a tension member made of resin-reinforced carbon fiber.
