  • Patent number: 6055341
Abstract: A device for reading color images comprises an optical input unit, an optical resolution unit and a photoelectric conversion unit. The optical input unit has a constant valid reading width for inputting three colors of RGB at the same time. A first optical path radiates a RGB light inputted from the optical input unit. A second optical path radiates a RGB light inputted from the optical input unit in a path different from the first optical path. A third optical path radiates a RGB light inputted from the optical input unit in a path different from the first and the second optical path. The optical resolution unit receives three RGB lights that are incidented into the optical input unit through the first, the second and the third optical path to resolve one of the three RGB lights into a R light, resolve one of the remaining two RGB lights into a G light and resolve the other one into a B light.

  • Patent number: 5701555
Abstract: A conveying unit conveys a recording sheet. A carriage comprises a process unit for forming a latent image and developing it so as to produce a developed image on an image carrier having a rotation axis parallel to a direction along which the conveying unit conveys the recording sheet, and a fixing unit using a fixing member for fixing the developed image to the recording sheet after the developed image has been transferred to the recording sheet. A transfer unit transfers the developed image produced on the image carrier to the recording sheet. A moving unit moves the carriage on the transfer unit along a direction perpendicular to the direction along which the conveying unit conveys the recording sheet, the carriage thus repeating a go-and-return operation in which the carriage fixes a line of the developed image onto the recording sheet while moving and then returns to a predetermined position. A heating unit heats the fixing member to a predetermined temperature.

  • Patent number: 5552868
Abstract: This invention relates to an electrophotographic device in which a latent image is formed on a recording drum by toner material. The invention prevents unused toner from being attached to the recording drum so that the quality of an image formed can be improved. In this invention, a carriage is conveyed in a perpendicular direction to a feeding direction of recording paper for printing thereon. A developing roller of a developing device mounted in a process portion is wider than an effective imaging area of the recording drum and is narrower than a charged area thereof. Also, sealing members can be provided at both end surfaces of the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 5552862
Abstract: The quality of an image can be improved by adjusting the print. When a carriage of an electrographic device is conveyed in a perpendicular direction to the feeding direction of the recording paper for exposure, development and photographic fixing, temperature and/or himidity is detected to determine an absolute humidity. The feeding amount of the paper is altered. A new feeding amount of the recording paper is determined in consideration of the altered feeding amount of the recording paper. Accordingly, the effect of shrinkage of the recording paper can be avoided, each image line can be arranged continuously and the quality of the image can be improved.
